Murray High School, Kentucky

John is a crafty, physical, and fearless wing who thrives in high-pressure games and embraces every battle on the floor. With a versatile skill set and high energy, he can defend, rebound, and create offense in multiple ways. Whether it’s locking down a matchup on the wing, grabbing tough boards in traffic, or change of pace speeds to blow by defenders, he brings a unique blend of control and explosiveness to the court. His scoring comes from all three levels, but it’s his change of pace and court feel that keep defenders guessing. John has the tools and tenacity to shift momentum, and his defensive presence gives his team toughness and identity.

This season, he averaged 14 points per game, shot 40% from the field, 34% from three, and added 6 rebounds per game, all while going from a role player to trusted starter. That ability to adapt and rise into a bigger role showed not just growth but grit. Now focused on expanding his game even further, John is working on mastering pace, learning how to break defenders down with change of speed, and becoming a leader his teammates can trust in every moment. His biggest takeaway from the year was the bond he built with his brothers because the wins mean more when they come with family.

John plays with Kentucky Supreme and has his eyes set on winning the Circuit of Champions in Madisonville and making a deep run at the 4th Annual Memorial Day event in Owensboro. His goals are to become more recognized, win more games, and grow both as a player and a teammate. He’s looking forward to next season with a fire in his chest to not just to be better individually, but to keep building with the same group of guys who have pushed him every step of the way.

He comes alive in intense, physical matchups and uses adversity, such as bad calls, tight games, and hostile environments, as fuel. He’s the kind of player who calms the storm, keeps his squad locked in, and leads by example. When it’s time to reset, he leans on his faith and close circle, keeping God at the center and staying grounded in what matters most.

I assess that John is a versatile, high-IQ guard/wing hybrid who can be plugged into any system and make an immediate impact. His defensive intensity, rebounding, and ability to score without forcing shots give him the rare ability to thrive in chaos. He plays with maturity, discipline, and purpose, and that translates to winning basketball.

As he continues to develop physically and evolve his offensive game, John’s potential is massive. Expect him to become a reliable go-to presence who’s calm in pressure, hungry in the moment, and locked in on elevating not just himself, but the players around him. His game is built for the next level, and the fire he plays with guarantees he’s only getting better. Stay tuned for a breakout season ahead.
