East Troy HS, WI

Some quarterbacks are content standing in the pocket and letting the game come to them. Brayden has never been wired that way. He is a tough, physical, dynamic playmaker who attacks the game with an edge and a fearless mentality. Whether he is firing a deep ball downfield, escaping pressure, lowering his shoulder as a runner, or making plays on the defensive side of the ball, Brayden brings an energy that is impossible to ignore. Every snap is played with passion, toughness, and a fierce competitive fire that has helped make him one of Wisconsin's rising quarterbacks. That drive and determination recently earned him recognition as the No. 9 ranked quarterback in Wisconsin's 2027 class, an accomplishment he appreciates but one that only adds more fuel to the fire for what he hopes will be a big upcoming season.

Last season, Brayden threw for 1,427 yards and 13 touchdowns while adding another 395 rushing yards and 7 rushing touchdowns on the ground. While those numbers are impressive, they only tell part of the story. The season was filled with challenges, dropped passes, protection breakdowns, and situations that forced him to create on the fly. Instead of letting those moments become excuses, Brayden found ways to battle through them. Some of his favorite memories came from connecting with teammates on deep balls and watching those plays turn into big moments, but what really gets him going is when the pocket breaks down and the game becomes backyard football. Few things excite him more than escaping trouble, getting into open space, and forcing a defensive back into a one-on-one battle.

What separates Brayden from many quarterbacks is the way he embraces every part of the game. He is not interested in simply handing the ball off or avoiding contact. He is willing to carry the football over and over if that's what his team needs. He can stay calm in the pocket, work through his reads, and make accurate throws, but he also has the toughness and mentality to tuck it and become an explosive runner when the situation demands it. On top of that, he contributes defensively and takes pride in being a complete football player. There is a toughness about his game that cannot be measured by a stopwatch or a stat sheet.

One of the biggest improvements in Brayden's game this past season came mentally. While many people focus on arm strength or athletic ability, he believes the biggest improvements happened between his ears. His football IQ, game management, and ability to handle emotions in different situations all took major steps forward. As the season progressed, he became more comfortable understanding game situations, controlling his mindset, and making smart decisions under pressure. Those improvements helped him play faster while also remaining under control when the game was on the line.

Adversity has never been a stranger to Brayden. This upcoming season, he will be playing under his fifth head coach in four years, a challenge that would frustrate many players. Instead, it has taught him to play for something bigger than coaching changes. He plays for his teammates, his school, and his community. He also carried the emotional weight of losing a teammate right before last season began. That loss hit hard, but it became a source of strength and motivation. Rather than allowing difficult moments to break him, Brayden has used them to become mentally stronger and more determined.

Before every snap, there is a process taking place long before the ball is ever snapped. Brayden runs the play through his mind, studies the secondary, looks at positioning, body language, and eyes, while already preparing for where his safety valves and opportunities may be. When defenses dedicate players to spying him, he is looking for those clues as well. That preparation allows him to react quickly and confidently once the play begins, giving him another advantage when things speed up.

The behind-the-scenes work reflects the same relentless approach he brings on Friday nights. He spends countless hours working on balance, agility, strength, quickness, and movement. His training focuses on becoming a more complete athlete rather than simply adding weight in the weight room. Even his summer construction job becomes another opportunity to build strength and toughness. Add in evening workouts with his father and extra throwing sessions with receivers, and it becomes clear that Brayden is constantly looking for ways to improve. He understands that chemistry is built long before kickoff arrives.

This offseason, the focus is on getting faster, adding muscle, and continuing to become a more explosive athlete. While he admits his combine numbers may not always grab attention, he believes the football field tells a different story. His speed, lateral quickness, toughness, and ability to create plays show up when the lights come on. That confidence is helping fuel his pursuit of another big step forward.

Coaches will get a player who competes with every ounce of energy he has every time he steps on the field. They will get toughness, leadership, effort, and a player willing to sacrifice his body for his team. When the final whistle blows, Brayden wants there to be no doubt that he emptied the tank. Every bruise, scrape, and sore muscle is simply evidence of another battle fought for his teammates and the name on the front of the jersey.

I assess that Brayden is a dynamic dual-threat quarterback who brings toughness, leadership, and playmaking ability to the field every time he steps under center. His ability to throw the football, extend plays, and create explosive moments with his legs makes him difficult to defend. The growth in his football IQ, game management, and decision-making has elevated his overall game and gives him the tools to continue developing into a complete quarterback.

Brayden's game is built on toughness, competitiveness, and an unwavering belief in himself. He combines a strong arm, good mobility, and a fearless approach with the mental growth needed to play the quarterback position at a high level. His willingness to embrace adversity, his dedication to improvement, and his ability to impact the game in multiple ways make him a player worth watching closely. As he continues adding strength, improving his speed, and building on the momentum from last season, the pieces are in place for a breakout year and an opportunity to climb even higher among the state's top quarterbacks. Stay tuned.
