Ben can shoot, handle the ball, pass, rebound, defend, and score from all three levels. He brings a rare blend of size and versatility that immediately creates problems for opposing teams. He is the kind of player who can pull a bigger defender away from the basket with his shooting, attack slower defenders off the bounce, battle in the paint, or make the extra pass when defenses collapse. That combination of skill and size makes him a tough matchup every time he steps on the floor and gives his team multiple ways to attack opponents.

Before injury brought his season to an abrupt halt, Ben was putting together an outstanding year while helping lead his team to an 18-2 record. Averaging around 15 points per game, he consistently produced while impacting games in several different areas. One of his favorite memories came against Manchester Essex when he exploded for 26 points while raining in 4-6 triples from beyond the arc. It was the type of performance that showcased exactly why he is such a dangerous offensive weapon. Whether scoring from deep, attacking the basket, or creating opportunities for teammates, Ben was becoming a major piece of his team's success.

Then came the adversity. A broken ankle combined with an ongoing battle against jumper's knee suddenly took basketball away from him. For many players, that kind of setback can become frustrating and discouraging. Instead, Ben used the experience as fuel. The time away from competition forced him to slow down, reflect, and evaluate what areas of his game needed the most attention moving forward. More importantly, it reminded him never to take the game for granted. When basketball is suddenly taken away, it changes your perspective, and that lesson has helped shape the way he approaches every workout, practice, and opportunity since.

The transition back to the court was not easy. After reclassifying and jumping into AAU competition with NE Storm, Ben quickly realized there would be challenges as he worked his way back from injury. Confidence was not immediately where he wanted it to be, and the first few tournaments required patience as he regained his rhythm. Instead of getting discouraged, he stayed committed to the process. Little by little, the confidence returned, the game slowed back down, and the results started showing. Along the way, he added strength in the weight room, improved his shot mechanics with a quicker release, and began feeling more like himself again. That growth has made this summer an important step in his development.

While his offensive versatility receives plenty of attention, the part of his game Ben takes the most pride in is his defense. That may surprise some people considering everything he can do offensively, but it speaks volumes about his mentality. He has worked hard to transform himself into a defender capable of guarding all five positions. What was once primarily a player comfortable defending bigger forwards and centers has evolved into someone who can confidently switch onto guards, move his feet, and compete all over the floor. That defensive growth has become one of the biggest reasons his overall game has taken such a leap.

In fact, versatility has become the defining theme of Ben's development. Over the last year, he has grown more comfortable handling the basketball, creating offense, making shots, finishing around the basket, and defending multiple positions. The game continues to open up because he refuses to limit himself to one role. Every improvement adds another weapon to an already well-rounded skill set, making him an even tougher player to prepare for.

The work behind the scenes reflects the goals he has set for himself. While many people are still sleeping, Ben is often already getting after it. Early mornings spent running sprints on the beach are followed by training sessions focused on explosiveness, ball handling, strength, and shooting. Every workout has purpose. Every rep is designed to help him become stronger, quicker, more explosive, and more complete as a player. The grind is not glamorous, but it is the foundation that continues to push his game forward.

Looking ahead, Ben's biggest goal is to help his team win an NEPSAC Class B Large Championship. Individual accomplishments matter, but winning remains the ultimate focus. That mindset shows up in the way he approaches the game and the expectations he sets for himself. He believes winning is a habit, and throughout his basketball journey, he has consistently been part of successful teams because he understands what it takes to contribute to a winning culture.

Coaches can expect a versatile competitor who plays to win every time Ben steps on the court. They will get a player capable of impacting the game in multiple ways, embracing difficult assignments, and doing whatever is needed to help his team win. Whether that means scoring, defending, rebounding, facilitating, or making the little plays that do not always show up on the stat sheet, Ben brings a team-first approach that coaches value and teammates appreciate.

I assess that Ben has one of the most valuable combinations in today's game with his size, versatility, and ability to impact multiple areas on the floor. He can stretch defenses with his shooting, create opportunities off the dribble, score around the basket, and defend multiple positions. His continued growth as a ball handler and defender has elevated his game, making him an even more complete player.

Ben is the type of player who fits almost any lineup because of the flexibility he provides on both ends of the floor. His ability to play inside or outside, guard multiple positions, and contribute without needing the offense built around him gives coaches plenty of options. The adversity he faced through injury appears to have strengthened both his mindset and work ethic, and his commitment to improving every area of his game continues to show. As he keeps adding strength, explosiveness, and confidence, expect his impact to continue growing because skilled, versatile players with size are always in demand. Stay tuned.
