Roman brings a downhill mindset that puts constant heat on a defense. He attacks the rim with purpose, finishes through contact, and keeps pressure on the paint possession after possession. When defenders collapse, he’s ready to hit the catch and shoot three or make the right read without forcing the issue. He plays fast, plays strong, and plays under control, taking pride in not turning the ball over while keeping his energy level high on both ends. His motor never dips, and that pace carries over to teammates around him.

Since returning from football, his impact has jumped immediately. Over the last 4 games, he is averaging 21 points, 5 rebounds, 3 assists, and 2 steals per game, showing his ability to score, rebound, create, and defend at a high level. The biggest improvement has come in how he takes care of the ball and how consistently he gets to the rim and finishes once he’s there. Those improvements are showing up in real production, not just flashes, as he continues to play with confidence and control.

There is still more he is chasing. Becoming more aggressive on the offensive glass is a point of emphasis, along with expanding his scoring package as a shooter off the dribble. Those areas are part of the daily work as he looks to keep pushing his game forward and become harder to guard in different situations.

Last season tested him in a different way. Coming back from a shoulder injury meant re-earning minutes and trust, but that grind paid off as he helped his team win the SPC 3A State Championship. Now as an upperclassman, he steps into a leadership role with bigger responsibility and bigger goals. Conference games are circled, and the focus is on chasing a three-peat. Coaches can expect high energy, vocal leadership, and a player who sets the tone with how hard he plays. He feeds off emotion, especially when opponents start talking, and that edge only raises his level.

Adversity doesn’t push him back. He looks for the lesson in it, embraces it, and uses it to grow. Off the floor, his mindset stays the same, going as hard as he can for as long as he can, carrying that approach into every rep and every game. There is some Division 3 interest building, and the goal is to secure his first offer by the end of the season, with momentum trending in the right direction.

I assess that Roman gives a college program a guard who applies steady rim pressure while protecting the ball and bringing constant energy. His ability to score inside, make smart decisions, and lead with effort adds real value to a lineup that wants to play fast and physical.

Moving forward, expect continued growth as his off-the-dribble shooting and rebounding presence continue to develop. With his motor, confidence, and competitive edge, Roman is poised to be a guard who can impact games through scoring, leadership, and toughness while continuing to earn attention at the next level. Stay tuned.
