Ty brings the kind of steady presence every team needs on the floor. His biggest strength is seeing the game develop before it happens, allowing him to find open teammates while keeping the offense moving. He handles the basketball with confidence, plays under control, and continues growing into a point guard who can make the right play at the right time. Add in his commitment to defending, rebounding, and doing the little things that help teams win, and his impact goes well beyond the stat sheet.
Throughout the high school season, Ty embraced whatever role his team needed. Whether he was the sixth or seventh man coming off the bench, he made every minute count by playing with maximum effort and bringing energy whenever his number was called. His team earned a trip to the state tournament, giving him valuable experience in meaningful games while continuing to build confidence against strong competition. That experience has carried over into his AAU season with TN United, where he continues to work on becoming a more complete point guard while helping his team compete every weekend.
One of the biggest improvements in Ty's game has been on the defensive end. His ability to rebound has also taken a huge step forward, allowing him to finish possessions and quickly get his team into transition. Those improvements have made him an even more dependable player because he continues finding ways to impact the game without always needing to score.
One of the toughest moments came in the game against Harding with a trip to the state tournament on the line. After struggling with turnovers during his time on the floor, Ty learned an important lesson about slowing the game down and trusting himself. Instead of letting one difficult game define him, he used it as motivation to become more composed and confident in pressure situations, knowing those moments are part of every player's journey.
The behind-the-scenes work has become part of his daily routine. Ty spends almost every day working on his game because he wants to continue improving and help put both himself and his team on the map. Every workout is another opportunity to elevate his skills, build confidence, and prepare for bigger opportunities ahead. His goals are simple but meaningful as he continues chasing improvement while helping TN United and his high school program reach new heights.
When Ty matches up against highly ranked or well-known players, he never changes his approach. He stays composed, accepts the challenge, competes on the defensive end, and isn't afraid to attack them on offense. He believes those games are opportunities to prove himself instead of moments to back away from.
Coaches can expect a player who will do whatever it takes to help his team win. Ty brings energy, toughness, and a defensive mindset every time he steps on the floor. He takes pride in locking up his assignment, competing on every possession, and putting the team's success ahead of individual recognition.
This upcoming season, expect Ty to continue expanding every part of his game. He wants to become more aggressive getting to the basket, develop into a more consistent outside shooter, and continue growing as a true point guard by seeing the floor even better than he already does. As those pieces continue coming together, he has the opportunity to become an even bigger difference-maker for his team.
I assess that Ty is a team-first guard who understands how to control the game through his passing, ball-handling, and defensive effort. His willingness to embrace any role while competing every possession makes him a valuable piece on both ends of the floor.
Ty continues to improve through hard work, experience, and a strong desire to win. As his offensive confidence, shooting, and playmaking continue to grow along with his defensive toughness, he has the tools to become an even more complete floor general and a player coaches can rely on in big moments. Stay tuned.
