There's something special about a left-handed sharpshooter who can rain in threes, attack off the bounce, find his sweet spot in the middy, and still have the court vision to make his teammates dangerous. Max brings that electric combination of offensive firepower, crafty ball handling, basketball IQ, and fierce competitiveness every time he steps on the court. His smooth shooting touch can light up a scoreboard in a hurry, but there's so much more to his game than putting the ball through the net. Max has developed into a dynamic three-level scoring threat with the confidence to take over offensively, the vision to set up teammates for quality looks, and the defensive tenacity to make his presence felt on both ends of the floor. His ability to mix scoring with playmaking makes him a dangerous offensive weapon, while his hunger to sharpen every aspect of his game continues fueling his development into a complete guard.

Max describes himself as a versatile scorer who takes pride in being able to impact the game in several ways. His outside shooting is certainly a major weapon, especially when he gets rolling from deep and starts making defenders pay for giving him daylight. However, his offensive attack goes well beyond the perimeter, as he enjoys getting into the paint, finishing at the rim, and using his touch from midrange to punish defenders who overplay his jumper. Being left-handed adds another wrinkle to his offensive attack, giving defenders a different look when he attacks driving lanes or rises into his shooting motion. What makes his game dangerous is his understanding of what the defense is giving him and his willingness to make the smartest basketball play rather than forcing his own offense. Max wants his game to speak through his versatility, whether that means putting points on the board, dropping beautiful dimes, making defensive stops, or doing the little things that help his team win.

His sophomore season was an impressive display of scoring ability, all-around production, and tremendous growth as a young leader. Max averaged 18.3 points, 4.6 rebounds, 3.4 assists, and 3 steals per game while establishing himself as one of Oak Hall's primary offensive weapons. Those numbers prove he's a guard who did way more than fill it up offensively, as he also mixed it up on the boards, created scoring looks for teammates, and disrupted opposing offenses with his defensive instincts. His outstanding play earned him District Player of the Year honors, a big achievement that reflected the work he had put into his development and the withoute made throughout the season. For Max, that recognition meant more than an individual award because it confirmed that his dedication was translating into meaningful results on the court.

One of the biggest challenges during that season was learning how to handle the attention that comes with being a main scoring option. Opposing defenses knew he could get hot from outside, which meant he had to become comfortable dealing with aggressive defenders, tighter coverage, and schemes designed to limit his scoring. Instead of relying only on his shooting touch, Max began developing a stronger understanding of when to attack, when to move the basketball, and how to remain effective when defenses made him their primary focus. That experience helped him grow as a leader and gave him a better understanding of how important decision-making becomes during competitive games. His confidence continued building as he learned to trust his instincts, stay composed, and make the plays his team needed.

Perhaps the most impressive development in Max's game has been his transformation from a talented outside shooter into a much more complete offensive threat. He's invested a lot of time in tightening his handles, developing his shot creation, and becoming more aggressive when attacking the basket. His improved ability to finish through contact has given him another way to score, while his growing confidence with the basketball allows him to operate effectively at either guard position. Max has also sharpened his understanding of when to look for his own shot and when to use the attention he draws to get teammates involved. That balance between scoring and distributing makes him difficult to defend because opponents must respect both his ability to light up the scoreboard and his willingness to find an open teammate.

The summer provided another chapter in his development, giving Max valuable experience against outstanding competition in several different basketball environments. He competed with Oak Hall, Team Scoot on the Puma PRO16 Circuit, and Swift Sports on the P32 Circuit, gaining exposure to different styles of play and talented athletes who challenged him to elevate his performance. Each experience offered something valuable, whether it was taking charge offensively, adjusting to a different role, or finding ways to make an impact against defenders with impressive size, strength, and athleticism.

During summer basketball with Oak Hall, Max was absolutely electric, averaging 24 points, 5.6 rebounds, 3.3 assists, and 2 steals while shooting 46 percent from the field and 88 percent from the free-throw line. His offensive production showed just how dangerous he could become when his confidence, shooting touch, and attacking mentality were all clicking. He displayed the ability to score from multiple spots while continuing to contribute as a rebounder, distributor, and defensive playmaker. His strong free-throw shooting also reflected the touch and concentration that make him such a dangerous weapon when defenders send him to the stripe.

One of his most explosive summer performances came against Horizon, when Max went for 39 points, rained 7 threes, gobbled up 8 rebounds, and dropped 7 dimes. That performance was a beautiful example of his complete offensive arsenal, combining sizzling perimeter shooting with an aggressive scoring mentality and outstanding awareness of his teammates. When a shooter with his confidence begins finding the bottom of the net from deep, defenders have to extend their coverage, and that opens the door for his crafty drives and ability to attack off the bounce. What made that outing especially impressive was his willingness to continue making plays for others while enjoying such a big scoring night. He showed that he could take charge offensively wit, hout sacrificing the ball movement and unselfishness that make a team difficult to defend.

His time with Swift Sports offered another strong showing, as he averaged 16.5 points while connecting on 41 percent of his three-point shots. That outside shooting efficiency highlighted his ability to remain dangerous against good competition and make defenders respect his range. Playing with Team Scoot provided a different challenge, as Max found himself competing against high-level athletes on a national circuit where every possession demanded concentration, execution, and smart decisions. He learned how to contribute when he wasn't necessarily the main scoring option, becoming more comfortable adjusting his offensive approach to what his team needed. Those experiences strengthened his understanding of basketball and helped him appreciate how important efficiency, versatility, and teamwork are when facing outstanding opponents.

Max also attended several college elite camps during the summer, gaining valuable insight into the intensity and preparation required to compete at the college level. Those experiences gave him a closer look at the expectations placed on guards and reinforced his determination to develop into a Division I prospect. He understands that reaching that goal requires much more than a beautiful jumper or an impressive scoring performance. It demands physical development, defensive toughness, intelligent decision-making, and the discipline to consistently challenge himself against outstanding competition. Rather than being satisfied with what he's already accomplished, Max views every workout and competitive experience as another chance to sharpen his skills and strengthen his game.

His basketball journey has also included adversity that tested his patience and determination. A broken hand and a broken nose forced him to deal with the frustration of missing time and competing without feeling completely healthy. For an athlete who loves being on the court, those experiences were difficult, but Max refused to let them weaken his passion for the game. He learned to focus on what he could control, remain positive throughout recovery, and prepare himself mentally for his return. Those setbacks strengthened his appreciation for basketball and taught him the importance of staying committed even when circumstances prevent him from competing the way he wants.

Another challenge has been competing against bigger, stronger, and more athletic opponents. Max understands that he cannot rely strictly on physical advantages, so he has developed an approach built on skill, IQ, timing, and determination. His ability to recognize defensive tendencies, use his footwork, and make quick decisions helps him compete effectively against athletes with different physical strengths. Instead of allowing those challenges to discourage him, he has embraced the work required to become stronger and more explosive. That competitive mentality has helped shape his confidence and continues pushing him to expand his offensive and defensive abilities.

Behind the scenes, Max has committed himself to a demanding offseason routine designed to improve his athleticism and expanding his complete skill set. Strength training and plyometrics have been major priorities as he works to increase his quickness, explosiveness, and ability to absorb contact. His individual workouts include ball handling, shooting off the dribble, finishing drills, and game situations that challenge him to make decisions at competitive speed. He also spends a lot of time developing his footwork and defensive technique, understanding that becoming a complete guard requires the same commitment on both ends of the hardwood. His dedication goes beyond organized practices because he understands that individual preparation is where confidence is built and weaknesses can become strengths.

As the upcoming season approaches, Max has set some big goals for himself and Oak Hall. He wants to become a more commanding leader, improve his offensive efficiency, and develop into a lockdown defender capable of making life miserable for opposing guards. Becoming stronger and more explosive should complement his scoring arsenal, allowing him to attack with greater physicality while maintaining the shooting touch that makes him such a dangerous offensive weapon. His ultimate team goal is to help Oak Hall compete for championships, and he understands that reaching that point will require everyone buying into the same winning mentality. Individual recognition is certainly meaningful, but Max places value on helping his teammates succeed and making the right plays when games become especially competitive.

When asked what a coach can expect every time he steps on the court, Max points to his competitive spirit, confidence, positive attitude, and willingness to do whatever his team needs. He takes coaching seriously and holds himself to high standards because he understands that trust must be earned through preparation and consistent performance. Whether he's filling up the scoreboard, distributing the basketball, defending an opponent's top scoring threat, or encouraging his teammates, Max wants his presence to make a positive difference. He especially values being someone his coaches and teammates can trust when the game is hanging in the balance. That commitment speaks to his understanding that basketball success involves much more than individual numbers.

While his shooting often receives the most attention, Max believes his basketball IQ and passing ability are the most underrated aspects of his game. He enjoys seeing plays develop, understanding defensive spacing, and anticipating where teammates will be before delivering the basketball. His court vision allows him to see openings that might not be obvious immediately, while his willingness to share the ball makes him a valuable offensive facilitator. He loves setting up teammates for easy baskets because he understands that a beautiful assist can be just as valuable as a difficult jumper. That unselfish approach gives his game balance between personal scoring ability and making everyone else more effective.

What fuels Max's fire is his love for basketball, his competitive nature, and his determination to see just how good he can be. He dreams of playing DI basketball and understands that achieving that goal will require countless hours of preparation, sacrifice, and dedication. Whether he's competing in a big game, grinding through an individual workout, or getting extra shots up when nobody's watching, his passion is the driving force behind his development. Max believes that hard work, skill, and determination can open big doors, and he refuses to become satisfied with his current abilities. That hunger to continue growing, combined with his love for competition, gives him a powerful foundation as he prepares for the challenges and possibilities still ahead.

Max has a smooth left-handed shooting touch, excellent balance, and a quick release that makes him dangerous from deep. His crafty hesitation moves, changes of pace, and ability to use angles give him an advantage when attacking defenders. His soft touch and body control make him effective in traffic, while his natural scoring instincts add to his offensive firepower.

Max has the tools to become an outstanding two-way guard with his quick hands, defensive anticipation, and competitive toughness. His continued development in lateral quickness and lower-body strength will make him even more effective against athletic opponents. His potential in pick-and-roll situations and ability to make precise passes under defensive attention give him a bright future as a floor general.
