Maddox brings the kind of game that impacts winning on both ends of the floor. He has built a reputation as a dangerous spot-up shooter who can stretch the defense from well beyond the arc, but his game has grown into much more than simply raining in threes. Maddox attacks the basket with confidence, finishes through contact, and continues developing his post game to become an even tougher matchup. On the other end, he takes pride in being a lockdown defender who embraces every challenge. Whether he is forcing turnovers, making hustle plays, or making shots from deep, his energy and intensity rarely take a possession off.

His freshman season on varsity showed exactly why he has such a bright future. Maddox finished with 203 points, 57 rebounds, 27 assists, and 74 steals and deflections while helping his team put together an impressive 17-7 record. He hit 35 triples during the season, proving he can change a game with one hot shooting stretch. Some of his biggest moments came against top competition, including scoring 13 points as the second-leading scorer against No. 1-ranked Parkersburg Catholic and scoring 16 points in the regional semifinals against St. Mary's. Those performances showed he wasn't intimidated by the biggest stages and was ready to contribute whenever his team needed him.

Competing in multiple sports has also helped shape the player Maddox is becoming. As a three-sport athlete, he believes every season helps strengthen the mental side of his game. Learning to compete in different environments, adjusting to different situations, and staying mentally locked in have all carried over to the basketball court and helped him become a more complete athlete.

One of the biggest improvements in Maddox's game has been attacking the basket. Opponents already respected his outside shot, but now he is putting the ball on the floor, getting downhill, drawing contact, and earning trips to the free-throw line. Adding that weapon to his offensive game has made him much more difficult to defend because opponents can no longer focus only on taking away the three-point shot.

The biggest challenge came before many people even noticed him on the court. As a freshman competing against nine seniors for a spot in the starting lineup, nothing was handed to him. Instead of getting discouraged, Maddox became the first player in the gym and the last one to leave. He trusted that hard work would eventually separate him, and that mindset helped him earn opportunities while continuing to improve every day.

The grind behind the scenes never slows down. Countless hours are spent in the gym elevating his skills while putting in extra work in the weight room to become stronger and more prepared for the next challenge. Along with continuing to develop as a basketball player, Maddox also wants to keep growing as a student-athlete while finding the identity that will carry him through the next stages of his journey.

When the opportunity comes to face highly ranked or well-known players, Maddox sees it as another chance to show what he can do. Those matchups motivate him because they allow him to measure his game against top competition while displaying his own skill set on a bigger stage. Coaches can expect maximum effort, a positive attitude, and a player who competes every possession without backing down from anyone.

This upcoming season, expect Maddox to take another step as both a player and a leader. He wants to lead on and off the court while continuing to compete at a high level and expand every area of his game. With his shooting, defensive intensity, growing offensive versatility, and relentless work ethic, he is positioned to make an even bigger impact in the seasons ahead.

I assess that Maddox is a strong two-way player whose ability to shoot from deep, defend at a high level, and attack the basket gives him value in every phase of the game. His willingness to outwork the competition and embrace difficult challenges separates him from many players his age.

Maddox continues to build his game the right way by adding new offensive tools while never losing sight of the intensity and toughness that define his style of play.
