Roland is a fierce and versatile wing who brings electric energy to both ends of the floor. With a strong frame and smooth skillset, Roland is a true three-level scorer who can knock down jumpers from deep, rise up with a punishing middy, or finish through contact at the rim. Defensively, he’s a problem with the ability to switch 1 through 5 with confidence, strength, and timing. His comfort guarding every position, combined with his offensive versatility, makes him a nightmare matchup and a key weapon for any lineup. What separates Roland is his feel for the game and the ability to flip the momentum of a contest in a flash. Whether his team is down or on the verge of a run, he shows up as the spark plug that shifts everything. A coach can count on him to play with intelligence, unshakable poise, and a motor that doesn’t fade when it matters most.
This past season, Roland averaged 8.8 points, 5.3 rebounds, shot 65.5% from the field and 38% from three, already efficient numbers that have only risen during spring AAU. After a slow start, he went off for 40 points against Manuel, 25 points against Central, and 16 points in district play against Ballard. The biggest improvement in his game has come with the 15 pounds of muscle he’s added since last season, making him stronger in finishing through contact and more effective at protecting the paint. That physical growth has boosted his confidence. Now, he’s working on raising his ceiling even higher by tightening his form while focusing specifically on quickening and elevating his three-point release. His most memorable moment last season was that 40-point explosion against Manual, a team known for tough, athletic defenders and a clear sign of what he’s capable of when he turns it all on. This AAU season with Kentucky Ambition, Roland is staying locked in on producing consistent numbers and leading his team to win after win. This past weekend, he averaged 18 points and 6 rebounds, helping his team go 3-0. In the final game of this run, he went off for a game-high 26 points and added 9 rebounds and 3 assists at the Made Hoops Midwest Clash. With events in Baltimore and Philly circled on his calendar, he’s ready to show out on the Made Hoops stage and continue proving why he’s one of Kentucky’s most complete wings.
Looking ahead, Roland is excited to lead Christian Academy of Louisville as a senior, especially under new head coach Coach Riley, and is fired up about making a deep playoff run in the 7th region. He thrives on turning the tide during a big second-half surge and brings a "next play" mentality that keeps him grounded through adversity. Every stop, every bucket, every possession is a new opportunity to shift the game. Coming from an elite athletic family, with his dad a former college hooper, his mom a state champion sprinter, and his sister a college volleyball standout, Roland was built for this spotlight.
I assess that Roland brings a unique combination of size, strength, and skill to the wing position. He’s an impact player on both ends, a confident defender, and a polished scorer who plays within the flow while still delivering big-time moments. His physical improvements, mindset, and versatility will make him a valuable piece for a college program looking for a reliable two-way player with a high ceiling.
With a full offseason ahead and momentum building, Roland is poised to explode in his senior year. His combination of defensive versatility, shot-making ability, and physical growth sets him up to be one of the most productive and efficient wings in Kentucky. Expect him to lead CAL with toughness, intelligence, and a competitive fire that only burns hotter with every challenge. Stay tuned for a monster season ahead.
