Electric on-ball defense, fiery competitiveness, and an unselfish mindset fit Cameron. He is a gritty two-way guard that brings intensity and control to every possession. A fierce defensive weapon who thrives on ball pressure and communication, often setting the tone for his squad by locking up opposing guards and creating chaos in the backcourt. Offensively, he attacks with confidence, capable of finishing through contact, making timely paint touches, and drilling open looks when defenses sag off. His court vision, combined with a team-first mentality, allows him to shift gears quickly, whether it's taking over as a scorer or controlling the tempo as a floor general. He’s relentless, vocal, and always dialed in making him the type of leader that energizes the gym on both ends of the floor.
So far this AAU season with Chattanooga Steam, Cameron has averaged 15 points, 4 steals, and 2 rebounds per game proving he can show out on a competitive travel stage. His biggest improvement is his shot-making, as he's become more efficient at knocking down open looks. His biggest focus this offseason is strengthening his off-hand, especially his right, to become a more complete threat on drives and in tight spaces. When his jumper wasn’t falling during a key game this year, he didn’t try to force his way through it. Instead, he embraced a leadership role, shifted into playmaker mode, and elevated those around him. This mature move that shows his high basketball IQ and willingness to sacrifice for the greater good.
He’s looking forward to championships and exposure as his primary AAU goals and has his sights set on making noise at the AAU World Championships in Orlando. The most exciting part for Cameron is the grind of competing with his teammates, learning, growing, and pushing past limits. What lights his fire most is defense. Getting key stops, disrupting rhythm, and using those moments to fuel his energy on both ends. When facing adversity, he embraces it and challenges himself and his team to lock in even more and fight back stronger. He knows that when you’re dominating, the other side is going to come after you, and he loves that.
I assess that Cameron’s fierce perimeter defense, unselfish playmaking, and ability to adapt under pressure make him a valuable asset for any program looking to add a scrappy, high-energy guard who plays with heart. His willingness to lead by example and compete on every possession gives him the kind of edge college coaches love.
Moving forward, Cameron is set to keep evolving. As he continues to strengthen his off-hand, improve his efficiency, and grow in confidence, he’ll only become more dangerous. His potential lies in his mindset, gritty, composed, and competitive. Expect him to be a sparkplug who makes winning plays and raises the level of everyone around him. Stay tuned.
