Murph is yet another dynamic combo guard with a high motor. He fuels his team with a scrappy defense that produces a ton of steals that turn into instant offense and quick transition baskets. Murph loves to get out and run whether off steals, snatch rebounds or quick passes headed the other way. However, Murph's great strength is lethal shooting as a three-level stud who can light it up from anywhere. Crafty enough to create his shots, and shake the defender right out of his shoes. Murph is a dazzling passer and mixes it up on the boards too.

The most motivating thing for Murph that will push him forward was not making the varsity roster but he has made sure to push his limits and conquer that goal this year. He started to send a message in AAU playing for Pro One Select where he averaged 17 points, 5 rebounds, 3 assists, and 2 steals. He elevated his impact during the Rocky Top Fall League averaging 20+ points per game. Murph's goals will be to control what he can control and be the best one on the court.

Competitiveness fuels Murph the most because he hates losing. Murph loves the big moment and igniting his team with steals that start big runs or thread the needle passes to give his teammate an easy two.

Murph handles adversity by just not getting in his head and making sure he breathes while staying calm.

A coach can expect Murph to be the hardest worker on and off the floor at any time because he loves the grind.

Murph sees himself at the D1 level because he thinks with his work ethic and dedication he can make it, and being marked to be at least 6’4 can only improve his odds.

I assess Murph as a high-voltage stud who brings instant energy to the floor. Murph is relentless at turning defense into offense quickly. With or without the ball no one runs the floor faster or harder than Murph - his scoring ability to match that and court vision to find open teammates even on the move is uncanny. The first time I saw him in Atlanta he put on one heck of a show. He was a cold-blooded sniper. I have seen him a couple more times since then. He made sure I saw he was more than just a shooter. Murph is a dynamic athlete who's a rising young phenom with confident swagger and a uniqueness the entire team feeds off the fans. It should be quite a show for Bearden High School this season - come get a courtside seat for this must-see TV show!
