Carter is a pure sniper. A guard with size and power, he’s a lethal catch-and-shoot threat who thrives in rhythm and never second-guesses a good look. He’s a big-bodied bucket-getter with a silky smooth release, strong court vision, and a physical presence that gives him the upper hand on both ends. Carter can grab rebounds in traffic, push tempo, and find open teammates in stride. His quickness for his frame is a problem for defenders, and he’s continuing to improve that first step to become even more dangerous off the bounce. With a solid handle, strong instincts, and the heart of a competitor, Carter’s game already flashes varsity-level maturity, and he’s just getting started.

After averaging an explosive 18.3 points per game as a freshman point guard, Carter left no doubt that he can score in bunches while running the offense. What stood out most was how he elevated his shooting consistency in live action, knocking down more shots, reading defenses quicker, and attacking with confidence. His biggest improvement was how he approached the game mentally, learning to trust his skillset and rise to big moments. This offseason, he’s putting in serious work in the weight room, dialing in on strength, agility, vertical, and all-around athleticism to prepare for the grind of varsity basketball. His desire to make state and to keep building one of the strongest freshman-to-varsity climbs in the Grand Forks program in years fueled that drive to improve.

This AAU season, Carter is playing for the 15U Grey Team at Sanford Sports Academy, based out of Fargo. With several Prep Hoops events on deck, he’s aiming to make noise and earn recognition among the region’s top 2028 prospects. The goal is simple: get better every time out and build toward a sophomore season that opens varsity doors wide. He’s ready to do whatever it takes, whether scoring, facilitating, or defending. Off the court, Carter stays grounded in his faith and leans on God to guide him through adversity and keep his spirit steady when things get tough. He plays with poise under pressure and thrives off high-energy environments and trash talk, anything that gives him an extra reason to dominate. The best coaching advice he’s ever received is “Play with confidence and don’t hesitate.” And that’s exactly what he does, every rep, every game.

I assess that Carter’s high-level shooting, strong frame, and basketball IQ make him a natural fit for the modern guard role at the next level. His willingness to attack the weight room and embrace uncomfortable growth areas gives him the kind of edge coaches love. He’s a competitor who brings physicality, composure, and a real scoring touch, all while continuing to evolve his all-around game. A true asset for any program seeking toughness, leadership, and offensive firepower.

Expect Carter to be a breakout name over the next two years. His size, motor, and ability to shoot the lights out will continue to open doors as he evolves physically and expands his impact. As his explosiveness and rim attacks catch up to his elite shooting ability, he has the tools to become one of the most versatile backcourt weapons in the region by the time he’s an upperclassman. Lock. this young star in on your big board now, as this train is just getting started and will only pick up more steam. And he very well may be the new sheriff in town and a name to remember. Stay tuned.
