Miles is a dynamic, explosive, and fiercely competitive athlete who impacts the game in every phase. Whether he’s lowering his shoulder as a hard-nosed running back, tracking down plays as a ball-hawking safety, flipping the field as a punter, or torching defenders in the return game, Miles brings relentless energy and elite execution. His versatility is rare, but it’s his effort that sets him apart, as he brings the same fire to special teams as he does to the red zone. As a runner, he hits holes with electric speed, makes defenders miss, and isn’t afraid to finish through contact. On defense, he’s a downhill enforcer who sniffs out plays before they develop and punishes ball carriers with fierce intent and ruthless aggression. He doesn’t just play the game, his mission is to own every snap with a level of grit and intelligence that coaches dream of. Expect toughness, leadership, and a non-stop motor when Miles steps on the field.
This past season, Miles led the Wausau West varsity team in total touchdowns with 8, rushing for 504 yards on 89 carries (5.7 YPC) and tacking on a score through the air. He completed 2 of 3 passes for 18 yards and caught every one of his 3 targets for 26 yards. On defense, he had 49 total tackles (30 solo), a TFL, an interception, and a fumble recovery. As a punter, he earned unanimous First Team All-Conference honors with 770 yards on 20 punts (38.5 average) and pinned 5 inside the 20. Add in 110 kick return yards on just 5 attempts, and it’s clear, Miles leaves mark everywhere. His offseason focus has been all about elevating his defensive play, especially his coverage drops, footwork, and reads. He’s worked with his DB coach to tighten his backpedal, improve his breaks, and turn himself into a true ball hawk in the secondary. His biggest improvement was his ability to react faster, move smoother, and make the ball his the second it’s in the air.
What fuels him most is knowing his time is limited. Every down, every game matters. He plays like there’s no tomorrow and treats every rep as a chance to dominate. Watching his seniors leave the field for the last time motivated him to leave nothing behind. Miles thrives when his opponent starts talking trash. He’s at his best when the stakes are high, and the crowd is loud.
He studies everything pre-snap, linemen’s alignment, running back eye movement, linebacker shifts, and processes it all like a quarterback on defense. His preparation is elite.. When facing adversity, he is fearless, forgetting the last play, coming back stronger on the next. Coaches can count on him to outwork everyone. He doesn’t take plays off, he doesn’t back down, and if you beat him once, you better be ready for the storm coming next. His competitiveness, leadership, and blue-collar work ethic separate him from the rest. He’s willing to do whatever is needed to win, and he brings others with him. The best coaching advice he’s ever received is, “Control the controllables.” Miles lives that every day through effort, attitude, and relentless preparation.
Heading into the 2025 season, he’s clocked a 4.78 -40, 4.44 pro agility, 7.1 L-drill, and jumped 26 feet in the triple broad, all indicators that he’s elevating physically to match his football IQ. He sees himself as a solid D2 recruit now, but with two years left to build, he’s pushing to be in the D1 conversation. What matters most to him is a program with a strong culture, recent success, and coaches who demand the best.
Miles brings huge value as a do-it-all athlete with a fierce competitive drive. His ability to impact the game from multiple positions, combined with elite instincts and leadership qualities, make him an immediate asset to any college program. His toughness, versatility, and work ethic create opportunities for coaches to deploy him creatively on both sides of the ball and in the kicking game.
With continued physical development and more time to evolve the technical aspects of his game, Miles is on a fast track to becoming one of the most impactful and complete players in his class. His motor, drive, and multi-phase dominance make him a recruit that coaches need to take seriously. The ceiling is sky-high, and he’s charging full speed toward it. Stay tuned.
