Hayden is a slashing guard who thrives when attacking the basket, using his speed and confidence to create offense. With a smooth pull-up middy and the ability to knock down threes, he gives defenders plenty to worry about. On the other end, his pride in defense makes him a tenacious stopper, capable of guarding multiple positions full court. His game continues to grow, and his energy on both ends sets the tone for his team.
This past season, Hayden averaged 10.5 points per game in 16 games, finishing with 123 total points. His biggest improvement came in his shooting, going from hesitant behind the arc to confident from all over the floor. That growth was on display in the Redington Rally in the Valley Tournament, where he scored 17 points in the championship game and earned team MVP honors while helping Kodiak secure the title. Looking forward, Hayden is focused on improving his handles and developing as a point guard, preparing himself to lead a young team after the graduation of five seniors.
Hayden embraces the responsibility his coach has given him to take charge, keep teammates focused, and still bring his own impact every time he steps on the court. He describes himself as a defender who loves the challenge of guarding 1 through 5, using his quickness and determination to disrupt opponents. When facing adversity, he relies on composure, staying calm and focused no matter the situation. The best advice he’s received is, “play your game, not theirs.” he keeps his mindset centered on playing with confidence and control. Off the floor, he enjoys running to stay in condition and spending time with friends, showing the same balance and discipline in life as he does on the court.
I assess that Hayden’s ability to slash, score from the midrange, and stretch the floor with outside shooting makes him a versatile offensive weapon. His defensive mindset and willingness to guard multiple positions give him value on both ends, while his leadership qualities strengthen his impact within a team structure. For a college program, his energy, motor, and defensive pride would provide a spark that coaches can count on.
As Hayden continues to develop his handles and point guard skills, his confidence and versatility will only expand his role. Expect him to grow into a reliable leader who can run an offense while still delivering a scoring punch. With his defensive toughness and improving perimeter game, his long-term potential points toward being a complete guard who brings both consistency and competitiveness at the next level. Stay tuned for a breakout season ahead.
