Namarqus is a dynamic player who grabs the crowd. With the size and mindset to handle multiple roles, he mixes that size with skill and toughness in a way that creates mismatches all over the floor. Offensively, he can stretch defenses with a smooth rainmaker from deep, punish smaller guards by bullying his way to the rim, and keep defenders guessing with a lethal off-the-dribble pull-up and step-back game. His handles are nasty, giving him the ability to create shots for himself and set up teammates when the lane opens. Defensively, his versatility shines with the ability to switch onto any position, guarding 1 through 5, and taking pride in making every possession miserable for the opposition. The combination of his length, lateral quickness, and relentless effort makes him a two-way problem built for big games.

As a sophomore, Namarqus averaged 14 points and 8 rebounds per game while shooting 38% from three. Over the last year, his ball-handling and lateral quickness were his biggest improvements, allowing him to attack more effectively and defend with even greater range. This offseason, his focus has been on becoming a more consistent shooter and continuing to expand the same tools that helped him reach that goal during the season. The most impactful moment came in falling short in the playoffs, a sting that still drives him today because he knows his team had what it took to go deeper. That hunger has fueled him all summer, where he’s posted big performances, including a 17-point performance in the 17U Platinum Championship game and averaging 18.5 points for the weekend at Richmond Summer Live.

Playing with Wave Basketball, Namarqus has shown that his value goes far beyond scoring. His length allows him to protect the paint when needed, his strength lets him finish through contact, and his ability to push the pace off the boards turns defense into instant offense. Coaches can expect 100% effort, a commitment to rebounding, and the ability to lock up the opposing team’s best player. His mindset is grounded in competing for something bigger than himself, understanding his role, and mastering it to help his team win. Off the court, he prioritizes rest, recovery, and time with teammates, keeping his body and mind ready for the grind of a deep playoff run.

With offers already from UIC and Fisher College, and more attention on the way, Namarqus is positioning himself as one of the most valuable and versatile wings in his class. He’s built for the spotlight and ready for a season where both his game and leadership will be put on full display.

I assess that Namarqus’s combination of scoring versatility, defensive adaptability, and physical toughness makes him a perfect fit for a college program looking for a wing who can impact the game on both ends. His ability to create his own shot while also making winning plays, whether that’s rebounding, switching onto bigger players, or providing secondary playmaking, gives him the tools to contribute immediately. He raises the competitive level of his team and thrives in high-pressure moments.

Expect Namarqus to continue building into a complete two-way weapon. With his growing consistency from three, improved lateral speed, and a willingness to take on the toughest defensive assignments, his ceiling is high. He has the potential to be a program cornerstone, a player who can lead by example, deliver in critical stretches, and become the go-to option when the game is on the line. Stay tuned for a breakout season ahead.
