Versatile Vigilante: The Rebound Catch and Shoot Master

Nolan Coffman  @Nolan_Coffman4 , Instagram: @nolan_coffman2 ,  6’4, 180 , C/O: 2027 from Madisonville North Hopkins High School is a high energy space eater that is a gritty blue collar gym who dominates the paint on both ends. Nolan gobbles up boards like candy and turns those into quick transition opportunities  with great court vision and IQ. Uses his size to see over the defense and fuel the fast break off rebounds. Nolan is a solid catch and shoot 3 &D stud that can effectively play the 2-5 when needed.  Defensively, Nolan is  a good shot blocker who understands Team Defense and places himself in the best situation to help my teammates. Even on this loaded team Nolan is ready to fill any role necessary to get the W. Extremely unselfish. His energy is contagious and relentless in the paint area on both ends. The way he relentlessly works those boards , Nolan gets a ton of easy putback buckets off those offensive rebounds. With nice timing he is a ruthless rim protector.

This past season Nolan averaged  5.6 points ( 46% from 2 and 34% from 3), 5.4 rebounds, 1 assist, 1 block and 1 steal per game in 18 games played. The most  motivating factor that will push Nolan going forward is when he was injured 18 games into the season and didn’t return until the Region Semifinals. Missing half of the season with my teammates motivates me to be in the best shape possible for this upcoming season. This AAU session playing for  the Nashville Stars (Spencer Turner) UA Riise where his goals are to help  his  team  win the UA Rise Championship for the second year in a row.The elements of his game Nolan will  focus hardest to  Improve: will be to keep  working toward improving his  offensive skills off the bounce and attacking the rim and also  working on improving his  on-ball defense to be able to defend 1-5. even more effectively. What impresses me the most is Nolan is knocking on the door of averaging a double-double on a loaded team playing up to help improve their game and gain valuable experience playing older kids thought to be bigger, stronger, and faster,  yet this fierce and scrappy squad are not only competing but winning consistently. .Nolan has been a huge part of that success .  Nolan's  goal for his  high school team in the coming season is to win a regional championship and go to Rupp Arena to compete for a state title. Personally, his  individual goals are to earn the complete trust of his  coaches and teammates by pursuing  what he feels  like , the potential to average a double-double for his team. From  what i have seen so far from Nolan , he will easily accomplish the double-double goal.

When Nolan is  on a basketball court, what fuels his  fire is the thrill of competition and desire to improve his skills. That  intense desire to win and push himself to see how much Ihe can improve as a teammate and leader on and off the court  will help me be a better overall human being.  Coaches can expect Nolan to bring his versatile skill set every night. and the passion to compete on a high level . Nolan's  ability  to play multiple positions on the floor as well as defend them too really sets him apart.  A coach can also expect  Nolan to do whatever it takes to help the team be successful ,whether it is just making the right read or the extra pass. As a freshman, INolan sees himself as being able to play at a low division level. However, mhis goal is to continuously improve his  game to be able to say that he could play at the highest level. Nolan knows he  still has a lot to learn about the game, but feels like his  work ethic will help him  to achieve that ultimate goal and dream of every baller , D1. My assessment is that with the passion and hunger matched with his energy and size Nolan would be a lock for a D2 within a year. If he continues to add strength and consistently continues to elevate those nice skills another piece of this loaded squad is looking to see just how high of D1 he can be.
