Versatile Vanguard: The Ulitimate Defensive Dynamo & Sharpshooter

Ben Geerdes @geerdesben30 , 6’3”, 185 , class of 2027 from Caledonia High School,MI high motor defensive gem who will sacrifice his body as he scraps for every inch of his territory and grit to face any challenger coming at him. Ben excels in every defensive category in the books from taking charges to just downright stingy defense like glue. great driving and passing and making quick adjustments based on my reads of the defense. IBen can play any position with my height for his age and can lock up almost any player on defense and is also very loud and communicates well on defense. But you can't sleep on his offensive abilities either , Ben is  a great catch and shooter that can handle that rock. Ben really runs the floor well in transition and because he mixes it up on the boards and also turns defense into offense he fuels that fast break transition game very effectively. Adding those handles and his nice court vision which he uses to make some thread the needle passes Ben is a real problem for his opponents and why he played varsity level as a freshman. Though it was limited minutes, his skill set and potential was undeniable. His impact was felt every moment he was on the court. Ben is the definition of the total package.

So far in this AAU session Ben  has averaged 9.8 points (81% free throws, 55% FG) and 4 rebounds per game playing only 24 minutes per game. Ben's favorite highlight from the AAU season is either getting his first in-game dunk last year or hitting the game winner at UA nationals. Ben's biggest accomplishments are being  named a top performer at Prep Hoops freshman showcase, getting to the championship game at the UA nationals tournament, and scoring in double digits in multiple games playing up on varsity as a freshman against division 1 competition in Michigan. Ben's biggest improvement since last school basketball season is his one dribble pull up and mid range jump shot, another wrinkle for defenders to figure out. Ben's goals for the upcoming high school season are to become the main scorer on his team and to lead the team to a regional championship.

The thing that fuels Ben the most during the game is the desire to win and to do it for all those who believe in him. As a dual sport athlete , Ben has learned to handle adversity by having a next play mindset and putting his mistakes into the past. Ben's hustle and defense separates him from other players. Fierce and tenacious and simply downright relentless. Ben has played against the toughest competition in the midwest and held his own. As well as how hard he has worked and continues to work to develop every area of my game. Ben, like every talented kid, is dreaming of D1 and considering that's the level of competition he is used to facing , why wouldn't he be, knowing he can compete and thrive with some of the best of the best. D1 has been his goal since he was a kid and is putting in the work necessary to thrive there and his fearless attitude drives him even more when he faces anyone. This is certainly a name to watch as his stock will only rise in the coming years.
