Rtan is a lethal three-level scoring threat machine with a silky smooth touch from three, where he shoots a sizzle 42%. Ryan is equally impressive around the paint area, shooting 54% from the field. Ryan has a high non-stop motorRyan has an intense basketball IQ for decision making and can drop a nice dime. Rtan doesn't mind mixing it up on the boards, using his size and length to impact every phase of his game. Ryan can guard between 1-5 and has strong leadership ability and work ethic.
Ryan's interests/hobbies outside of basketball are spending time with his family, specifically his mom and pets; Ryan loves to go out in nature and going on hikes and seeing places he has never seen before; spending time with friends instead of going out or staying in, he is interested in owning a business one day and how the body works and recovers.
Ryan's previous high school stats were 4.5 points, 1.4 rebounds, and 1.1 assists, while FG: 54%, 3PT: 42%, and FT: 70%. Ryan's areas for development are his ability to be stronger going left, rebounding, quicker release, and being quicker off the dribble. Ryan's quicker release, being faster off the dribble. TRyan's biggest improvements from last season were jumping his FT% from 70% to 91%, points from 4.5 to 15 a game, and raising Rebound per game from 1.4 to 6.5. Ryan's biggest basketball accomplishment was not making the playoffs his sophomore year to winning the league and taking home a 6th place trophy his junior year.
The biggest game/rival Ryan is looking forward to this year would be our game, Camp High School because they are the team in our league that is an actual competition for the league title this year. He looks forward to this game because of the intensity his team brings to this game every year and that they leave it all out of the floor, fighting every play to win the game. Ryan feels like his team can make a deep run this year due to the depth of our team; from guys 1-15, they all play a pivotal role and can do whatever is asked of them, but it will take a lot of time together in the weight room and on the court. All being on the same page about our goals and aspirations for this coming season to be locked in every single day to be the best team we possibly can be.
What fires Ryan up on the court the most is seeing his teammates have success; when he sees his teammates have success after all the time they have put in this offseason, it makes him realize how much they have worked and wanted to be right here in this moment and prepared for it. Just seeing the dudes who might not play as much have success really fires me up.
When facing adversity Ryan likes to watch film on his mistakes and see what he can do better or what the right play was for his team. Making sure everyone during a timeout is listening and regrouping so when they go back out they can stop the run and change the tide of the game.
The best piece of advice Ryan has ever been given is no matter how hard, Ryan doesn't give up, and you are closer to your goals than you realize.
As Ryan strives for his goals, it will take a lot of hours and hard work, so he is ready to do it and has been training to do it since he was in middle school. It will take a lot of sacrifices, ups and downs, adversity, getting out of his comfort zone, and leadership.
Ryan feels like he fits in at a Di2 level because he can fit any role a coach needs him to. Instead, it’s a leader, shooter, hustle, rebounder, etc. Ryan thinks his skill set would fit in perfectly due to the pace and feel of the game at that level.
Ryan currently holds offers from 2 schools, Pacific University and Pacific Lutheran University, which are both D3 schools. Ryan has interest from 20 schools all the way from Community college to D2 schools. I have two visits coming up with Pacific University and Corban University.
