There are guards who simply score, and then there are guards who control everything happening on the floor. Malakye is the kind of player who brings that full package every time he steps on the court. A crafty and shifty guard with a smooth shooting touch, high basketball IQ, and natural playmaking instincts, he impacts the game in multiple ways that go far beyond putting the ball in the basket. Malakye sees the floor like a conductor directing an orchestra, reading defenses, finding teammates in the right moments, and attacking weaknesses when they appear. He can stretch a defense with his range, slice into the lane off the bounce, finish through contact, or deliver a perfectly timed dimes that turn a good possession into a great one. His ability to score, create, and keep the entire offense flowing makes him a constant problem for defenses and a guard who impacts the game every single possession.

What makes Malakye such an intriguing young guard is how naturally the game slows down in his hands. Once he crosses half-court, the defense immediately has to respect the possibility of a deep rainmaker, which forces defenders to step higher and opens space for him to operate. From there, his shiftiness with the ball becomes tough to contain. He changes pace well, attacks seams in the defense, and gets into the lane where he can finish strong or make the right read when help defenders collapse. His court vision allows him to find teammates in rhythm, delivering well-timed dimes that turn pressure situations into easy scoring opportunities.

His ability to run the floor adds another layer to his impact. Malakye moves with purpose in transition, spotting openings before defenders can recover and takes advantage of them with quick decisions. Whether it is pulling up when the defense sags, attacking downhill when a lane opens, or threading a dime to a teammate running with him, he brings a natural feel for keeping the offense flowing. When he finds his rhythm, the entire energy of the game shifts because his confidence becomes contagious and his teammates feed off it.

That confidence showed itself throughout the season as Malakye averaged 15 points and 3 assists per game. His outside shooting remained steady at 36 percent from three, while his composure at the line showed with an 81 percent free-throw line. One of his most explosive performances came at the Joe B. and Denny Classic, where he went off for 38 points and earned game MVP honors while turning heads throughout the gym. His consistency from deep also placed him among the KHSAA Top 50 leaders in three-point field goals, further proving that defenses cannot afford to lose him.

One of the biggest improvements in Malakye's development this season was the confidence he carried every time he stepped on the court. That belief allowed him to trust his decisions, attack opportunities when they appeared, and score at a much more efficient rate. As that confidence continues to grow, so does the level of control he brings to the game. His focus moving forward remains on building strength and continuing to elevate his defensive intensity so he can impact the game even more on both ends of the floor.

Malakye currently competes on the travel circuit with Kentucky Ambition 16U, where he continues to face strong competition and sharpen his approach. Playing against talented players from different regions continues to challenge him to raise his level and adapt to different styles of play. Those experiences build the composure and awareness that carry over directly into the high school season.

Faith also plays a key role in how Malakye handles adversity. When difficult moments arrive, he leans on the work he has already put in while trusting that God is guiding his path. That belief allows him to stay grounded and focused, knowing that every part of the journey has purpose and that his responsibility is to keep working and improving.

Although he has not received offers yet, Malakye approaches the recruiting process with patience and determination. His goal is to continue developing his game and allow his performance to open doors as the summer approaches. With his skill set and growing confidence, the expectation is that college programs will begin taking notice as he continues to prove himself.

I assess that Malakye brings an offensive skill set that immediately puts pressure on defenses. His shooting range forces opponents to extend well beyond the arc, which creates space across the entire floor. His ability to attack off the dribble and read help defenders allows him to create scoring opportunities for both himself and teammates. As his strength and defensive intensity continue to evolve, his impact will expand even further as a complete backcourt presence.

Malakye has the tools to become a dynamic guard capable of driving an offense and creating difficult matchups. His confidence as a scorer, combined with his natural ability to facilitate, shows a strong understanding of the game and a willingness to make winning plays. As he continues to mature physically and improve on the defensive end, his overall impact on the floor will continue to grow while opening the door for opportunities at higher levels of competition.
