Sevier County High School, TN

Parker is an explosive Linebacker with length, speed, and athletic ability who causes a ton of havoc on the field. With this unique skill set, fierce tackling ability, and being able to cover a lot of ground with his frame and speed Parker terrorizes opponents. He is a match-up nightmare. Parker has the natural instincts of tracking that ball with a high defensive IQ and anticipation. Parker also brings to the field a motor that not everyone has and feels he was gifted by God with great genetics in height and athleticism to help him be a defensive disrupter.

Last season Parker had 67 tackles, 1 sack, 2 PBU, 2FR, and 5 TFLs earning him :

2023 Region 1-5A Second Team All-Region

2023 5 Star Preps All-Underclassmen Team

2023 2nd Team All-County

Parker's biggest improvement from last season is understanding the defense that the coach runs and focusing on doing the small things correctly. Parker feels coach Cogdill teaches him the most inspiring things. The most motivating thing that will push Parker moving forward from last season would be seeing all of those seniors graduate who he loved very much. Just seeing them walk off the field for the last time in pain didn't sit well with Parker, and it keeps him motivated to play hard every single snap knowing from now on he has 28 guaranteed games left in his high school career as long as he stays healthy.

Before the ball is snapped Parker reads the key guys on the field like wings, guards, tackles, feet position, and where the back is lined up. When Parker is making a tackle he tracks the nearest hip and explodes through the ball carrier. With this defense Parker's teammates make it easy on him, especially with Tyler Mann in the middle and a great athlete Joey Galazin on the other side. Parker has supreme confidence before every single play that they are going to get a stop if they run the ball. Parker thinks he adds another dimension to the defense by forcing the ball carrier back inside forcing him to have to run through Tyler and Joey, and 99% of the time that never works.

What fuels Parker the most on the field is when people trash-talk him. When the crowd/band gets into it gets him going. Feeding off that crowd/ band is like electricity running through him and he uses that turbocharge to make something happen to send them over the top.

When things aren’t going well Parker stands in the face of adversity by relying on his teammates, and mainly he just falls back on what he knows while focusing on the basics to help him get through. Parker feels he has been coached so well at Sevier County, and it’s true what they teach him does very much work.

Parker thinks his coaches know when he steps on the field he is going to bring his motor and high intensity all game long.

In college Parker thinks he can play at the highest level, having a lot of confidence in himself in every aspect of his game. Although if the offers he would like to have do not come he would be more than happy to play at another level.

Parker thinks the family aspect of things sticks out to him in schools. Parker loves schools where the players are very close to one another not just in the sport of football but also outside of it.

If Parker had to tell a younger player than him it would be to wait your turn. Parker thinks most kids transfer to play earlier where there is less competition. but he waited for his turn and luckily that came before others. Also, always prepare yourself for your turn so when it does come you will be ready and prepared.

I assess Parker as a different kind of athlete, one that loves and thrives on being a disruptor and uses his IQ to the ball carrier bottled up between the best tacklers on the field, not budging an inch himself. His understanding of the game and his position/ role is uncanny and scary for opposing teams, he is still growing and learning. With this coaching staff developing amazing talent, Parker hasn't scratched the surface of what he can become. Parker established and set himself apart as a freshman and his stock continues to rise. In Parker's last game, he had 12 tackles, 2tfl, 1 sack, and 1 forced fumble, that's in only the second game of his sophomore season y'all. That is high-level performance and if he continues at this rate there is no limit to how high he can rise. He is hungry and determined. Stay tuned to the breakout season ahead for this young stud.
