Jack is a knockdown three-point sniper on the catch-and-shoot. He can be streaky hot and once he catches fire it's time to call the fire department to cool him off. Jack can also score inside and out with a strong ball-handling ability, he can run point and handle ball pressure. Jack is better off the ball when he can get to a spot to score. But with his size and strength, Jack is effective at attacking the seams launching a solid mid-range dagger. Defensively Jack likes being matched against their best scorer so that he is challenged to limit his production. Jack also likes to use strength and physical play to crash the boards and get rebounds.
This past season Jack averaged 18 points, 6 rebounds, and 2 assists per game while shooting 82% FT, 37% from 3 with a high game 34 pts, and had multiple 10+ rebounds games. The most motivating thing last season that will push Jack forward was upsetting a top 10 team in overtime on his birthday and scoring a career-high 34 pts. It was an example of how any team can be beaten on any given night and shows the possibilities when your teammates play together. Moving to ACCS for his senior season brings new energy with a new team. Jack's goal is to be more productive to help his team win. Jack wants to be more efficient and score at a higher percentage while also working on defensive stops and rebounding. Of course, Jack would love to set new personal bests if the opportunity arises. Ultimately, Jack wanted to compete for a championship which is why he transferred for his senior year.
For the 24/25 season, Jack transferred to Adams County Christian School Natchez MS (5A MAIS) and spent the summer in the weight room getting bigger and stronger which will impact his play this fall. Jack also worked on agility and jumping. The new school brings new competition and new teammates so Jack is working on being in the best physical shape and not necessarily on his points or rebounds but being more productive as a teammate.
On the court, Jack has always been self-motivated and disciplined. Success fuels Jack to work hard to meet personal and team goals while being productive for his team. Playing in hostile environments in games that they are not supposed to win fuels him, even more, to work a little bit harder to come out on top.
Jack handles adversity on the court by finding different ways to be helpful as a teammate. If his shot is off Jack tries to score at the rim or if he is being defended well and not getting clean looks he tries to get others involved. Jack works to stay positive and finds windows of success on off nights.
Coaches should know, with any coach that knows Jack will tell you, that he won’t be outworked or outhustled. Jack is a student of the game, always working on improving, a good listener, and coachable. A fierce competitor driven to get better and be successful.
Jack sees himself being able to contribute on a Juco or D2/3 level even though he is not necessarily focused on the level but more on finding the right opportunity in the right system or style of play.
Jack focused on finding an opportunity to continue his basketball journey after high school participating at camps at every level except NAIA in the last two summers with a willingness to travel out of the South for the right opportunity.
I assess Jack to have a relentless work ethic and size and strength already next-level ready. With the intangibles he possesses he is going to be a steal for any program he chooses despite the division level. Not only is he skilled but his character, attitude, and defensive grit set him apart with oozing potential. Throw in coachable and hungry to learn and keep developing is a coach's dream. Don't sleep on this run for a championship!!
