Okonak is a crafty and super creative, triple threat scorer. The best way I can describe him would be a “Swiss Army Knife.” He can finish strongly under the rim, as well as drill jumpers. I have seen him guard both Centers as well as guard smaller, fast, shifty Guards. He is very good at moving without the ball and setting screens for his teammates. He is a very unselfish “team first” player.
This past season, he averaged 12 points, 6.2 assists, and 9 rebounds per game. You want to fire him up? Just tell him that he can’t physically do something. Then, sit back and enjoy the clinic he puts on! He said he wants to really focus more on his ball handling and even more quickly getting off his shots. Playing AAU for All Day Select, his goal is for him to get as much exposure as he can for both his teammates and for himself.
This kid plays with a confident, but not cocky swagger. He has that chip on his shoulder where he just loves to quiet the doubters. He is calm, cool and collected, and simply won’t crack under pressure. When asked what a coach can expect from him, he said “I am an unselfish player who always puts the team first. I will shoot, rebound, play defense, pass, set screens, whatever is asked of me.”
He feels he can be a solid player at the next level, whether that be D1 or D2. He has a very high ceiling and putting in the work to further hone his craft. He is very gifted for his size. Ya’ll won’t want to miss this journey. Oh, he has a twin brother too! “Double trouble” is what I nicknamed them! Stay tuned!
