KJ steps behind center with an electric presence that instantly lights up a field. He is dynamic in everything he touches, a fierce young quarterback who already carries the poise and command of players much older. His vision is explosive, scanning defenses with a calm confidence and a versatile skill set that makes him dangerous from every angle. Whether he is firing darts downfield, slipping out of pressure with smooth footwork, or distributing the ball like a young maestro, KJ separates himself with his advanced football IQ and fearless competitive drive. Coaches can expect a fiery leader who raises the bar of an entire huddle, a playmaker who brings edge, energy, and execution every single snap. He never shies from big moments, thrives on responsibility, and plays with a hunger that sets him apart from every quarterback his age.
This past 2025 season proved that his talent is very real. He threw for 918 passing yards with 11 touchdowns and only 3 interceptions while averaging 14.3 yards per completion. He added 4 two-point conversions through the air, 2 more on the ground, rushed for 83 yards and 1 touchdown, and even caught a receiving touchdown for good measure. His biggest improvement came from running an eighth-grade offense as a seventh grader, pushing his team all the way to the Regional Finals. This offseason, his goal is crystal clear. He wants to strengthen his leadership, sharpen his total command of the offense, and guide Taylor County to an even deeper postseason run. Motivation comes from competing in every sport he touches, learning from adversity, trusting his preparation, and fueling his growth through basketball, baseball, and soon, track to boost his speed and agility.
KJ’s understanding of the game is far ahead of most players in his grade. He recognizes tells before the snap, alerts blockers when pressure is showing, and identifies opportunities in coverages to give his receivers an advantage. He spreads the ball naturally, keeping defenses from locking in on one target, and he holds himself accountable at a level that demands maximum effort from every teammate around him. His football roots run deep through his family. With a father who played tight end at Eastern Kentucky and a grandfather who lined up at linebacker for Samford, the game truly lives in his blood.
His competitive fire never flickers. He embraces adversity as part of his growth, understanding that mistakes are stepping stones to becoming elite. He trains with Coach Max Staver at QB Vision in Nashville, where he sharpens every part of his game while absorbing lessons from proven quarterback minds. His dream is to run out as a Georgia Bulldog someday, but right now his focus is to work, improve, believe in himself, and chase opportunities that come to players who grind with purpose. The best advice KJ ever received is, "Believe in yourself, push past comfort, and lead in a way that makes people trust you." Coach Alex Golesh once told him that playing quarterback isn’t about the arm, but about being someone teammates will follow. KJ already plays like a leader built for that responsibility.
A coach who chooses him is getting someone who will outwork expectations, hold himself accountable before anyone else can, and fight for every inch with intensity. He wants teammates who match his fire, and he refuses to quit regardless of what stands in front of him. He sees the field, studies defenses, and attacks each play with purpose. His goal is simple. Get better every day until opportunity becomes reality.
I assess that KJ’s intelligence, field awareness, and natural leadership give him the tools to elevate every offense he commands. His ability to distribute the ball, recognize defensive shifts, and maintain composure under pressure allows him to impact drives and keep team efficient and productive. His work ethic, family football foundation, and relentless competitive nature position him as a leader for explosive team performance. With continued growth, he becomes the type of quarterback who can guide a program with confidence, strengthen locker room culture, and inspire teammates to rise with him.
Moving forward, expect a young quarterback whose ceiling goes far beyond his age. His mental approach, commitment to improvement, and willingness to embrace coaching will growfaster as a player. As his body matures, his speed increases, and his command continues to evolve, he has the potential to become a high-level varsity leader and a player who draws attention for all the right reasons. KJ is on a rising path built on effort, belief, and a competitive fire that never fades.
