Grand Junction HS, CO

Grant is the kind of player who brings calm to the chaos every time he steps on the floor. His versatile skill set allows him to impact the game in just about every way possible, whether it's making shots, breaking defenders down off the bounce, creating easy looks for teammates, or taking control when the game hangs in the balance. He plays with poise, confidence, and a steady presence that keeps everyone around him locked in. Grant isn't just a scorer or a playmaker. He is a true leader whose voice, energy, and willingness to lift up his teammates make him just as valuable without the ball as he is with it. Every possession starts with purpose because he understands how to control the pace, make smart decisions, and keep his team moving in the right direction.

Grant helped lead Grand Junction to an outstanding 21-5 season and a deep postseason run that ended in the Elite Eight. Along the way, he led the team in both scoring and assists, averaging 13.2 points and 3.0 assists per game while consistently delivering when his team needed him most. His season was filled with memorable moments that showed exactly what kind of player he is. He came up with a game-sealing steal against conference rival Montrose, calmly made two clutch free throws to finish off another rivalry win over Palisade, and scored 18 points in each of Grand Junction's first two home playoff games to help send his team to the Elite Eight. Those performances earned him First Team All-Conference honors along with All-State 5A recognition as only a sophomore, proving he is already becoming one of the rising names in Colorado basketball.

The biggest growth in Grant's game came from expanding every part of his skill set while also embracing a larger leadership role. He worked tirelessly to become equally dangerous with his off hand, allowing him to attack in either direction without hesitation. At the same time, he became more physical, welcomed contact instead of avoiding it, and developed into a player capable of taking over games while encouraging everyone around him. His leadership also became his biggest challenge. Learning how to guide a team while handling the pressure that comes with being the focal point wasn't always easy. Add in the constant face-guarding and double teams that came every night, and Grant quickly learned how to stay mentally strong without letting defensive attention take him away from his game.

Colorado Live became another reminder of just how much more Grant can bring to the floor. The event showed him he is capable of putting even more points on the scoreboard while also serving as the calming presence when games become hectic. He proved to himself that he can compete with anyone standing across from him, regardless of reputation or ranking. Just as important, Grand Junction left Colorado Live believing it belongs with the best. Even without overwhelming size, they discovered that relentless energy, teamwork, and flying around on defense can erase a lot of disadvantages. That confidence could become one of the biggest building blocks heading into the upcoming season.

Grant never lets the name across the jersey or the attention surrounding an opponent change his approach. When facing highly regarded players, his focus stays on matching their intensity, trusting his game, and refusing to let the moment become bigger than it really is. He understands that respect is earned through competition, and he embraces every opportunity to prove he belongs on the same floor with anyone.

Behind every strong performance is an even stronger commitment to improvement. Grant's daily routine includes two basketball workouts focused on different parts of his game along with an hour in the weight room, six days every week. One workout is built around shooting, range, and consistency while the other improves his ball handling, finishing, and scoring in traffic. This offseason, he has also placed a major emphasis on becoming an even more consistent shooter, developing his middy pull-up, and expanding the different finishes he can use around the basket. Every workout is another step toward becoming a more complete player.

Grant's goals continue to reach higher. Throughout the rest of AAU, he wants to remain an all-around leader, continue producing at a high level, and help his team win games. Once the high school season begins, he plans to raise his numbers in every category while proving he belongs among the very best players in his class. Looking even farther ahead, his dream is to play college basketball at the highest level his hard work can take him, and he has no plans of slowing down until he reaches that opportunity.

Every coach knows exactly what they are getting when Grant checks into the game. They can expect a player who makes winning plays, competes with poise, stays aggressive without forcing the action, and always puts the team first. Whether it is grabbing a key rebound, finding the open teammate, hitting a clutch shot, or defending with pride, Grant embraces every responsibility. He never takes possessions off, stays level-headed under pressure, and brings a winning mindset that spreads throughout the team. Expect Grand Junction to compete with confidence this season because Grant believes this group will continue to play for each other, embrace every challenge, and make the most of every opportunity that comes their way.

I assess that Grant is a dynamic, versatile playmaker who impacts winning in every phase of the game. His ability to score, facilitate, lead, defend, and stay composed under pressure separates him from many players his age. His continued growth as both a leader and a complete offensive player gives him an extremely high ceiling moving forward.

Grant combines basketball IQ, poise, toughness, and unselfishness into a game that consistently makes everyone around him better. He embraces big moments, handles pressure with confidence, and refuses to let defensive attention slow him down. As he continues adding strength, elevating his offensive bag, and expanding his leadership, expect Grant to remain one of the top rising guards in Colorado while continuing to build toward playing the game at the next level. Stay tuned.
