Ali had the kind of breakout junior season that forces people to stop sleeping on him. Night after night, he showed he could impact the game on both ends while growing into one of the most dangerous scorers in the conference. The Skyline All Conference guard averaged 17 points, 4 rebounds, 3 assists, and 1.3 steals per game while knocking down 42.3% from three-point range. But the numbers only tell part of the story. The real difference was the confidence, toughness, and complete floor game he brought every single night.

Ali describes himself as a two-way player that loves defense, creates for others, and brings a smooth shooting touch from behind the arc. That showed up constantly throughout the season. Defenders had problems staying attached to him because of how comfortable he became scoring at all three levels. Leave him space, and the jumper burns you. Press up too hard, and he can attack off the bounce or make the next read for teammates. That balance in his game is what made him so difficult to contain this season.

Everything started clicking for Ali offensively as his confidence kept growing throughout the year. The three-ball became a serious weapon, but he also expanded the rest of his offensive bag. He became more comfortable creating his own shot, getting downhill, and making plays for teammates when defenses collapsed on him. His ability to score while still keeping teammates involved allowed him to control games without forcing the action. The game slowed down for him, and once that happened, his production exploded.

Earning Skyline All-Conference honors showed that the hard work was paying off, but the season also gave Ali something deeper than recognition. It taught him not to take any game for granted and to approach every night with full effort. The postseason especially reinforced how valuable preparation and consistency truly are. Every practice, every workout, and every rep behind the scenes started showing up when the lights got bright.

One of the biggest moments of his season came when he had 30 points in a sectional game and carried his team to a huge victory over Mound Park Academy. Big moments do not scare Ali. They fuel him. That performance showed exactly what kind of scorer he can become when his confidence catches fire. Shot making from deep, tough buckets under pressure, and big plays when his team needed them most. That game became another reminder that Ali can rise to the occasion when everything is on the line.

Now playing AAU basketball with Powerhouse Minnesota, Ali has continued working to elevate his game even while battling adversity. The AAU season started off solid before an ankle injury slowed things down and temporarily forced him off the floor. Instead of letting the setback discourage him, Ali attacked recovery the same way he attacks basketball. The injury taught him the importance of recovery, strength training, and conditioning while helping him grow mentally as a player. Now he is preparing for his return this weekend with hunger and motivation to pick up where he left off.

One of the biggest improvements from last AAU season to now has been his ability to consistently make the three-point shot. That outside shooting has become a true difference maker because defenders now have to respect him the second he crosses half court. When a player already has scoring instincts and playmaking ability, adding a dangerous perimeter shot changes everything for defenses.

This offseason, Ali is fully focused on building more strength, adding athleticism, and preparing his body for the next level. He understands the importance of physical development and wants to match his skill set with even greater explosiveness and strength. The goals are not small either. Ali wants to average over 20 points next season and help lead his team all the way to the state tournament. That hunger to keep climbing is pushing him every day.

Most importantly, coaches know what they are getting every single time Ali steps on the floor. Effort, toughness, energy, competitiveness, and a player willing to do whatever it takes to win. Whether it is defending, making shots, creating offense, or sacrificing for the team, Ali brings a winning mentality that impacts everybody around him.

I assess that Ali Akram is a strong two-way guard that impacts games with scoring, defense, and overall versatility. His ability to shoot 42.3% from deep while also creating offense at all three levels makes him a difficult cover. He competes hard defensively, moves well without the ball, and continues improving as a playmaker. His confidence and scoring instincts showed huge growth throughout his junior season, especially in pressure moments. The toughness he displayed while battling through injury also says a lot about his mentality and dedication to the game.

Ali’s breakout season showed the foundation of a player whose ceiling continues to rise. His combination of perimeter shooting, scoring ability, defensive effort, and willingness to compete gives him strong value on both ends of the floor. As he continues adding strength, athleticism, and consistency, his game has the potential to take another leap moving forward. The confidence he gained from this past season and postseason could become a huge turning point in his development.
