Massimo has built his game around being a problem from every angle on the floor. He is a three-level scorer who understands how to find good shots, create efficient offense, and capitalize when opportunities present themselves. What makes him especially difficult to deal with is that his impact doesn't stop when the ball leaves his hands. He rebounds with purpose, communicates constantly, embraces the dirty work, and has the versatility to guard multiple positions. That combination of offensive skill and defensive value allows him to impact games in a variety of ways, making him the type of player coaches trust in winning situations and teammates love having beside them. While many players focus on one side of the ball, Massimo takes pride in impacting every possession, whether it is through a timely basket, a key rebound, a defensive stop, or simply bringing energy that lifts everyone around him.

His season at Proctor Academy was filled with growth, production, and proof that the work being done behind the scenes was beginning to show on the court. During a stretch against Vermont, Tilton, and New Hampton, he shot a jaw-dropping 78 percent from the field and 65 percent from three, showcasing just how efficient and dangerous he can be when he is playing with confidence. Rather than becoming satisfied with those results, he used them as motivation to keep pushing forward. Since the season ended, consistency has remained the foundation of everything he does. Whether it is in the weight room, the classroom, or the gym, the mission has stayed the same. Despite the success he experienced, he believes there is still much more to accomplish and that his best basketball remains ahead of him.

One of the biggest improvements in his game came through his competitiveness and defensive development. He embraced coaching, learned how to better receive constructive criticism, and used every piece of feedback as fuel for improvement. That willingness to be coached helped unlock another level in his game and allowed him to make huge strides on both ends of the floor. Instead of resisting challenges, he learned how to attack them, and that growth has become one of the biggest reasons his game continues to trend upward.

The journey was not always smooth. Confidence became one of the biggest battles he faced throughout the year. There were moments when he found himself benched, when opportunities felt limited, when teammates looked elsewhere, and when people questioned whether he was good enough. Those experiences could have easily broken a young player, but instead they strengthened him. Rather than allowing doubt to win, Massimo trusted the work. Countless hours in the gym became his answer. Every workout became another chance to prove something to himself. The guidance and belief from Coach Josh also played a major role in helping rebuild and strengthen that confidence. Through constant conversations, daily work, and steady growth, he learned that confidence is not built through words alone but through preparation and repetition. That lesson continues to shape the player he is becoming.

When reflecting on the year, there are several accomplishments that stand out. Receiving the Lakes Region Champions of Character Award represented far more than basketball ability, as it reflected the way he carries himself and approaches the game. Earning the Coaches Award was another meaningful honor because it recognized the hard work, commitment, and dedication that often go unnoticed. Beyond the awards, he also grew physically, becoming stronger and more explosive while continuing to learn valuable lessons throughout his freshman season. Those experiences provided a foundation that should serve him well for years to come.

During AAU season, Massimo played for The House We Built and continued expanding his game against good competition. He brought size, rebounding, leadership, defensive toughness, and offensive versatility to the team while continuing to learn and grow. His ability to impact games without needing the spotlight gives him more value. Whether he is scoring, defending, crashing the boards, or helping organize teammates, he consistently finds ways to make winning plays. As the team continues developing together, he believes the future is bright, and the lessons being learned now will pay off down the road.

One of the most telling things about Massimo is the way he approaches competition. Rankings and outside opinions do not drive him. He is not concerned with who is supposedly better or where someone else is on a list. His focus remains on improvement, winning, and trusting the process. He understands that basketball is a marathon, not a sprint, and that success belongs to those who continue to show up every day, ready to work. That mindset allows him to compete freely, stay humble, and focus on controlling what he can control while letting the results take care of themselves.

The behind-the-scenes work reflects that mentality. Daily skill development with Coach Josh, strength-and-conditioning sessions with Coach Travis, and a strong commitment to recovery and to taking care of his body have become part of his routine. His offseason goals are to become stronger, faster, and more explosive while elevating his defense to an elite level. He also wants to continue proving that he belongs among the highest levels of competition. Every workout, every lift, and every repetition serves a purpose as he chases those goals.

What coaches can expect every time Massimo steps on the floor is a competitor who refuses to back down, a teammate who puts winning first, and a player willing to do whatever the game requires. Whether the moment calls for scoring, defending, rebounding, communicating, or sacrificing for the good of the team, he embraces the challenge without hesitation.

I assess that Massimo is a dynamic two-way player whose value goes well beyond scoring. His ability to operate as a three-level scorer while also impacting games through rebounding, communication, and defensive versatility makes him a highly valuable piece on both ends of the floor. He plays with purpose, understands his role, and brings a team-first mentality that coaches love. His continued physical development and growing confidence are helping unlock even more of his potential.

Massimo has already shown he can score efficiently, but his willingness to defend, compete, and embrace coaching separates him from many players his age. The adversity he faced this season helped strengthen his mindset, and that growth is beginning to show in his overall game.
