Oscar is a dynamic playmaker with a ton of athletic ability, speed, agility, and rocket air. With an incredible IQ, field vision, and game adaptation like a machine Oscar carves up a defense like a hot knife through country butter. What makes him even more dangerous is even if he breaks the pocket he can punish the defense with running or throwing lasers on the run, a pure match-up nightmare. Oscar is smart, accurate, and a blue-collar stud who loves his coaches and teammates.
This past season Oscar was 116-157 for 2004 yards, for 30 TDs with only 2 INTs leading his varsity team to a 9-0 record within 6A varsity QB freshman rating of 128.9. Oscar followed that up with the Adidas FBU All-American Bowl where he dazzled the crowd throwing for 9-12 for 151 yards in a half. So far this season Oscar has gone 69-94 for 1089 yards for 12 TDs with only 3 INTs. Highlighting his last game Oscar's stats from Friday against #11 Fishers- 31-38, 334 yards, 2 TDs with the final game-winning drive going 8-9 for 88 yards TD, this young star is clutch!
The biggest improvement from last season for Oscar is sharpening his ability to read defenses even better. Oscar credits having a great group of coaches who have continued to support him in this area. In the film room, studying and having receivers on the same page. This is what Oscar visualizes before the snap: play within myself, trusting himself and I am ready for this moment.
The most motivating or inspirational thing that happened last season will push Oscar forward is seeing players around him working hard and getting better. Brownsburg has a great football culture. They compete.
What fuels Oscar's fire the most when he is on that field with his teammates - they are like family.
Oscar handles adversity by embracing it. He knows that this adversity is making him stronger, and it’s all about the next play. What he is going to do next - not what happened in the past.
A coach can expect Oscar to give his very best every time he takes the field. Also, know he will be prepared, no one will out-prepare him. Oscar wears #18 for that reason- Peyton Manning, Danny O’Neil, and Jake Dunn. These are guys who Oscar respects. Guys who worked incredibly hard off the field to get to the next level.
Oscar's Football IQ, accuracy, toughness, and ability to change what he is doing to find success as the game develop sets him apart from anyone else in his position.
Oscar sees himself playing D1, power 4, or Miami (OH) - he loves that program. However, the most important thing is that he finds the right school fit - the culture, the values, the academic programs, the school’s total package. Oscar would consider lower-division, schools like Indiana Wesleyan, and Butler to name a few. These programs have great coaching staffs, guys he'd love to play for. These are incredible schools that provide enriching experiences off the field. Oscar's goal in that case would be to do everything he could to maintain a 4.0 pre-med while playing football. What makes a school stand out to Oscar is the coaching staff, the football culture, and the academics. Oscar wants to go somewhere where everyone is ready to compete
Oscar's advice or encouragement to a player coming behind him is to enjoy it and love your teammates and coaches. It all moves pretty fast but the relationships will last.
I assess that this prolific young star is already doing amazing high-level stuff that puts him in an exclusive group. A program-changing dynamic phenom destined for greatness. Oscar has instinctive intangibles you simply can't teach. There is no limit to how high he can and will fly. Oscar's name is one we will remember as it will be heard for years to come. Y'all stay tuned with your popcorn ready.
