Lane has a little bit of everything in his game, and that is what makes him such a difficult matchup. He can score from all three levels, break defenders down off the bounce, make shots, attack the rim, and make plays for others. What really separates him, though, is how well he sees the floor. Lane takes pride in being an elite facilitator and scorer, constantly reading defenses and finding ways to put both himself and his teammates in positions to succeed. Whether it is operating out of the pick and roll, creating off the bounce, or finding an open teammate at just the right moment, he has a knack for making the game look easy.

His sophomore season was packed with accomplishments and proof that his game continues to move in the right direction. Lane averaged 13.5 points, 6.2 rebounds, 4.3 assists, and 2.2 steals per game while earning Offensive Player of the Year, All-Conference Honorable Mention recognition, team captain status, and the title of assist leader. Those numbers tell part of the story, but the impact went much deeper than stats. Being trusted to lead as a sophomore speaks volumes about the respect he earned from coaches and teammates. One of his biggest moments came against Riverdale when he nearly became the first player in school history to record a quadruple-double, finishing just two steals and one assist short. That performance served as a reminder of how much impact he can have on a game in every area of the stat sheet.

Being named Offensive Player of the Year and serving as a captain were accomplishments that meant a great deal to Lane because they represented the hard work that happens long before the lights come on. For him, those awards were not just about personal success. They were proof that the countless hours spent working on his craft were paying off. Being able to represent his teammates, speak for the program, and help lead the group gave him a sense of pride that extended far beyond points and awards.

One of the biggest improvements in his game came from learning how to better understand the players around him. While many athletes focus only on their own development, Lane focused on learning the strengths and weaknesses of his teammates so he could help bring out the best in everyone around him. That growth helped elevate his playmaking and leadership while making the entire team more effective. His mindset is simple. If his teammates are succeeding and he is succeeding, winning usually follows.

That growth has continued into AAU with Wisconsin Hoops Select, a program Lane believes is one of the best in the state. The experience has challenged him while helping him elevate different parts of his game. Through practices and high-level competition, he has learned how to break down defenses more efficiently, make quicker decisions with the basketball, and run an offense with greater confidence. The results have already started to show. In one standout performance, Lane went off for 25 points and rained in 6 three-pointers against strong competition, showing exactly why he is becoming one of the more exciting guards to watch in his class.

When the competition gets tougher, Lane doesn't back down. In fact, he welcomes it. His mindset is built around attacking challenges rather than avoiding them. He believes games often come down to who is willing to outwork the other side, and he carries that belief every time he steps onto the floor. He approaches every game with confidence and determination, trusting the work he has put in behind the scenes and embracing the opportunity to test himself against the best players around.

Like many young athletes, Lane has faced doubts along the way. One of the biggest hurdles he had to overcome was hearing people question whether he was tall enough. Instead of allowing those opinions to limit him, he used them as motivation. Rather than focusing on what he could not control, he focused on improving every part of his game. That mindset continues to fuel him today as he works to prove that skill, intensity, and determination can outweigh a lot of things people think matter most.

The behind-the-scenes work is a major reason for his continued growth. Lane trains four to five days a week with Nimrod Hilliard at Hilliard Pro Development, a trainer he credits heavily for helping shape both his skills and confidence. Through those workouts, he continues to expand his basketball knowledge while expanding every aspect of his game. The goal is to play college basketball, and he believes he can compete at any level if he continues to put in the work necessary to get there.

A coach can expect a player who brings energy, toughness, and a winning mindset every time he steps on the floor. Lane takes pride in doing whatever is needed to help his team win, whether that means scoring, creating for others, crashing the boards, defending, or making the hustle plays that don't always show up on the stat sheet. He competes with confidence, embraces challenges, and never backs away from tough competition. Most importantly, he is a team-first player who understands that winning comes from making everyone around him better while giving everything he has every time he steps on the court.

I assess that Lane is a dynamic playmaker who impacts the game from multiple angles. His ability to score, facilitate, rebound, and defend allows him to impact winning in ways that go far beyond points. He plays with confidence, competes at a high level, and consistently looks for ways to make the players around him better. His feel for the game and willingness to embrace big moments continue to stand out.

Lane's value comes from his complete game. He can create offense for himself, create opportunities for teammates, stretch defenses with his shooting, and bring energy on the defensive end. His leadership qualities, basketball IQ, and commitment to improvement continue to elevate his ceiling. As he keeps developing physically and elevating his already versatile skill set, his impact will only continue to grow.
