"The Mustang Stampede: One Team, One Mission, One Unforgettable Run"

Matt's Mustangs didn't just win the E40 Grassroots Invitational in Indianapolis; they came charging through the field and left a trail of blowout wins behind them. Under the direction of head coach John Adkins and assistants Timmy Dalton and Brock Adkins, the Mustangs finished 4-0, taking first place overall, pouring in 267 points while allowing just 133, and finishing with a jaw-dropping +60 point differential. From the opening tip until the final horn, this team played with nonstop energy, shared the basketball, attacked the boards, and overwhelmed every opponent that stepped in their path, turning an already impressive weekend into a statement nobody could ignore.

Right in the middle of the stampede was CJ Waller from Lawrence County, who stuffed the stat sheet while doing all the dirty work that helps teams win. CJ averaged 8 points, 9 rebounds, 2 assists, and 2 blocks per game, but those numbers only tell part of the story. He was flying after loose balls, cleaning up everything around the rim, swatting shots, keeping possessions alive, and giving the Mustangs extra chances every time the ball went into the air. Whenever his team needed a spark, CJ seemed to be right in the middle of it with another big rebound, another hustle play, or another momentum-changing block.

The Mustangs wasted no time making a statement, thumping Illinois Warriors Elite 71-45 before rolling right into a 61-35 win over Nova Village. They kept the pedal mashed to the floor in game three with a 73-22 runaway over OEF, then slammed the door on the weekend by taking down MBC Cincy-Cooley 62-31. Every game felt like another wave of Mustangs coming at their opponent, and every player found a way to leave fingerprints on the weekend.

Cole Slone from Pikeville High led the way offensively with a team-high 17 points per game while giving the Mustangs a dependable scorer who could light it up whenever they needed a bucket. Noah Keaton from Cabell Midland gave the Mustangs another steady scoring option by averaging 8 points a game, while Ethan Cole from Johnson Central pieced together a strong weekend with 6.5 points per contest and battled hard on the boards. Dominic Foreman from Valley High in Louisville added 7 points per game, and his brother Ky Foreman chipped in another 6 as the brothers brought plenty of punch every time they hit the floor.

Grant Hall from Pike County Central was the master facilitator who kept the offense humming while creating easy looks for his teammates, and he was an absolute defensive menace who made life miserable for opposing ball handlers. Carter Ross from Wayne, Clark Huff from Boyd County, Carson Stowers from Cabell Midland, and the rest of the roster embraced their roles and made winning plays that don't always show up in bright lights. Whether it was grabbing a big rebound, making the extra pass, locking somebody down, bringing fresh energy off the bench, or making a hustle play when it mattered most, everybody bought into the same mission, and that made this group so much fun to watch.

This wasn't about one man carrying the load because everybody hitched up and pulled in the same direction. CJ Waller helped lead the charge with his relentless work around the basket, Cole Slone supplied the scoring punch, Grant Hall kept everything flowing while wreaking havoc on defense, the Foreman brothers added another scoring spark, Noah Keaton and Ethan Cole gave the Mustangs even more firepower, and the rest of the roster kept the engine roaring all weekend long. When the dust settled in Indianapolis, Matt's Mustangs had rolled away with a perfect 4-0 record, first place in the E40 Grassroots Invitational, and a weekend full of highlights that showed exactly what can happen when an entire team plays for each other.
