Baustin is the definition of explosive heart in a small frame, a fierce competitor with a scorer’s touch, electric energy, and unshakable determination. What separates Baustin from everyone else at his position isn’t just his skillset but his relentless mindset. Dubbed “The Little Giant” for good reason, he plays every possession with a fire that can't be measured in height. With a smooth jumper from deep, crafty ball-handling, fearless drives into the paint, and tenacious on-ball defense, Baustin commands attention the moment he steps on the court. He’s not just a shooter or a creator, he’s a facilitator, a tone-setter, and a leader by example. His motor never stops, and his impact goes far beyond the stat sheet, he brings grit, leadership, and infectious energy that lifts every teammate around him.

Baustin came into his senior year with a vision and he delivered. Averaging 19 points per game, he nearly reached his goal of 20 while leading Liberty with confidence and tenacity. His hard work didn’t go unnoticed. Despite being overlooked by many due to size, he silenced doubters by earning multiple college offers and ultimately committing to West Virginia Wesleyan, a perfect fit for his uptempo, high-energy game. Though his team fell one win short of a state appearance, Baustin saw the season as a blessing, using every game as fuel for what’s next. Now, heading into college, he’s embracing a new role: not just as a scorer, but as a defender, rebounder, tempo-pusher, and spark plug who can bring heat on both ends and adapt to whatever his team needs. His maturity and vision for growth show a player ready to develop, earn his stripes and rise even higher.

His climb was never easy. Cut all three years of middle school. Benched his freshman year. Overlooked, counted out, doubted. But Baustin never folded. He transferred, found opportunity, and made the most of it, pouring in effort, building confidence, and transforming adversity into armor. His strongest tools today are a deep-range jumper, a nasty handle, relentless defense, and the ability to create off the dribble. But perhaps most importantly, Baustin thrives under pressure and knows the work doesn’t stop just because a goal is reached. He’s already looking ahead: continuing to develop as a passer, learning to handle doubles and blitzes, and elevating his playmaking IQ to complement his scoring. And for every young hooper chasing the dream, Baustin offers this truth: “Don’t give up, no matter how many nights you feel like it. If you love the game, it won’t give up on you. Trust God, not your plan, His.”

At the center of Baustin’s story is a deep, unwavering faith in Jesus Christ. Every step of the journey, every setback, every triumph, has been guided by the hand of God. Baustin is quick to give the ultimate credit where it belongs: to the Lord who gifted him the mindset, the drive, and the strength to keep going. He doesn’t just play for stats or the spotlight — he plays as an act of worship, knowing that without God, none of this would be possible. In the face of rejection, adversity, and obstacles, Baustin leaned not on his own understanding but fully on the plan but fully on the plan God had for him. His life and game are a testimony of perseverance, purpose, and giving all glory, honor, and praise to the One who made it all happen.

Baustin’s fierce skill set and intense motor make him a difference-maker at the college level. His ability to score from deep, attack defenders, and lock up guards defensively will make him a valuable asset early in his career. Coaches can rely on him for energy, toughness, and the kind of leadership that raises the bar for everyone in the gym.

Expect Baustin to make his mark as a versatile two-way guard who embraces challenges and thrives in pressure situations. As he grows into a more vocal leader and expands his playmaking reads, his role will grow, and by his upperclassman years, he could very well be one of the most impactful players in the program. His ceiling continues to rise because his work ethic refuses to slow down.

Baustin’s transition to college will be fueled by humility, hustle, and hunger. He’s embracing his role from day one — pushing the pace, locking in on defense, and filling every gap with purpose. As he continues to develop and learn, expect his confidence and contributions to expand quickly. The fire’s already lit, and “The Little Giant” is just getting started.
