Whether it’s ripping away a steal, stepping in for a charge, crashing the boards, making shots, or sparking momentum with hustle plays, Carlos-Ray plays with a motor that never cools off and an edge that constantly fuels his team.

In his own words, Carlos-Ray sees himself as a verbal and passionate leader that creates momentum on both sides of the floor, and that description fits perfectly with the style he brings every possession. He averaged 18 points, 6 rebounds, and 3 assists per game during his freshman season while serving as team captain, leading scorer, and defensive leader. His ability to impact games in multiple ways immediately separated him from many players his age. He did not just score the basketball, but defended with pride, attacked the boards, communicated constantly, and embraced doing the dirty work that changes winning basketball.

What stands out most about his game is the intensity he brings defensively. Carlos-Ray takes tremendous pride in being the energy source on that side of the floor. He thrives on momentum-changing plays like taking charges, jumping passing lanes, forcing turnovers, and creating chaos with relentless effort. His defensive IQ has taken major strides, especially through learning habits and positioning from Coach Cole at Cleveland. The growth in his on-ball defense and overall awareness now allows him to affect games at a much higher level.

That defensive toughness has started blending with a rapidly improving offensive game. Once known mainly as a hustle player and defender, Carlos-Ray is now showing consistent confidence offensively. His shooting touch has improved, his range continues extending beyond the three-point line, and he is becoming much more comfortable creating opportunities both for himself and teammates. He attacks through contact, finishes with strength around the basket, and continues developing into a much more complete offensive threat.

The confidence and momentum from the high school season rolled directly into AAU play with ABC Spotlight. During the RL Hoops Kansas Live Period, Carlos-Ray averaged 12 points, 6 rebounds, 3 assists, and 1 block while helping his squad go 3-1 against strong competition. His breakout performance against Colorado Premier showed exactly how dangerous his game is becoming offensively as he exploded for 24 points on an ultra-efficient 9-10 shooting performance while adding 5 rebounds, 2 assists, and a block. The performance highlighted his improved shot-making, confidence, activity level, and ability to impact the game in every area.

The achievements continue stacking up for the rising prospect. Carlos-Ray is currently ranked #14 overall in New Mexico and sits as the #1 PF/SF in his class while also earning strong recognition through ABC Spotlight. Those accomplishments have added confidence and validation to the countless hours he continues putting into his development. Carlos-Ray understands that those honors are earned through discipline, consistency, and work ethic, and they continue motivating him to push even harder.

One of the strongest foundations behind his growth is his relationship with Jesus Christ. Carlos-Ray made it clear that his faith and disciplined approach have played a major role in his confidence, development, and ability to stay mentally focused. Through support from coaches and people close to him, he worked through those struggles and came out mentally stronger. That growing confidence now shows every time he competes, especially with the aggression and trust he is playing with offensively.

His offseason focus remains on becoming varsity-ready while continuing to elevate every part of his game. The goal is simple: stay hungry, continue developing, and become a complete player that impacts winning at the highest level possible. Coaches can expect a high-energy, high-IQ player who competes relentlessly on defense, creates momentum through effort, and continues evolving offensively every time he steps on the floor.
