Every team wants a player that competes with edge, confidence, and nonstop aggression on both ends of the floor. Alex brings exactly that every time he steps into a gym. He’s the type of guard that can completely shift momentum in a matter of seconds. Leave him space, and he’ll bring the rain from deep. Get too aggressive closing out, and he’s attacking off the bounce with speed, strength, and bad intentions at the rim. Either way, defenses are forced to pick their poison.

Alex describes his game as aggressive on both sides of the ball while doing whatever it takes to positively impact winning. That mentality showed all season long during a huge junior campaign where he averaged 15.8 points, 4.0 rebounds, and 3.2 assists per game while earning 1st Team All-Conference honors. His ability to score efficiently and impact games in multiple ways helped fuel both his own growth and his team’s success throughout the season.

What makes Alex dangerous is the versatility in his offensive game. Alex takes pride in being able to score at all three levels, and that balance keeps defenders uncomfortable all game long. He can space the floor, rise up confidently from deep, attack gaps off the bounce, or finish through contact once he gets downhill. The offensive toolbox keeps expanding, and with his competitive motor, it becomes a nightmare to consistently contain him.

The high school season helped elevate his confidence even more because he stepped into a big role and delivered efficiently throughout the year. But AAU basketball with MN Fury 17U-Zurn brought a completely different challenge. On this level, everybody was “that guy” on their high school team. Everybody can hoop and score. That adjustment forced Alex to learn the value of fitting into different roles depending on what each game needed most. Some nights it’s scoring. Some nights it’s spacing. Some nights it’s defense, energy, or making the extra play. Alex embraced that reality because at the end of the day, his focus stays on helping the team win.

That mentality was a massive reason MN Fury rolled through the PH Upper Midwest Finals with a dominant 5-0 championship run. Alex played a huge role throughout the weekend, consistently providing steady offense, toughness, and shot-making while the Fury overwhelmed teams with chemistry and energy. According to Alex, that chemistry became the difference maker. Game after game, the energy stayed high, the ball moved, players trusted each other, and the confidence only kept growing. When a talented team genuinely buys into winning together, they become extremely difficult to stop, and the Fury showed exactly that throughout the weekend.

Winning the conference championship and earning 1st Team All-Conference stand out as some of Alex’s proudest accomplishments from the season, but what mattered just as much was the growth. He talked about how both he and the team improved throughout the year, and that development continues carrying into AAU ball right now.

Like every player chasing another level, Alex also faced adversity along the way. One area he knew needed improvement was getting downhill more effectively using his speed. Instead of avoiding the weakness, he attacked it directly. He’s spent a lot of time improving his acceleration and footwork in the paint so he can become even tougher to contain off the bounce. That work is already beginning to show up more in his game.

This offseason, Alex has continued building his shooting while focusing on improving his off-ball movement and operating in ball-screen situations. That’s another scary layer to add, because once a guard who already shoots efficiently starts becoming more dangerous without the ball and in pick-and-roll situations, the offensive pressure multiplies quickly.

When Alex talks about what coaches can expect from him, the answer tells you everything about his approach to the game. Full effort every single play. A player obsessed with winning every possession, whether he’s on the floor or supporting teammates from the bench. That type of energy spreads through teams quickly because effort and competitiveness are contagious.

Looking ahead, Alex is chasing even bigger goals. Winning Player of the Year in his conference sits high on the list, along with continuing to gain attention from college programs. As the growth continues the way it has lately, those goals are very realistic. The shooting, toughness, versatility, and competitive fire already jump off the page. Now it’s about continuing to tighten every part of the game and stacking winning performances.

I assess that Alex is an aggressive two-way guard that creates pressure on defenses with his ability to score from all three levels. His shooting ability immediately stretches defenses, but what makes him even tougher is the combination of downhill attacking, physicality, and competitiveness. He plays with strong energy, impacts winning in multiple ways, and understands how to adjust within team roles. His motor and willingness to compete on both ends give him strong value every time he steps on the floor.

Alex’s growth as an all-around guard continues trending upward. His efficient scoring, improved downhill ability, and expanding off-ball game make him increasingly difficult to defend. He competes hard, embraces team basketball, and brings strong effort consistently. The work he’s putting into acceleration, footwork, and decision-making around screens is helping round out his offensive game even more. With his shooting touch, confidence, and mentality, Alex has the tools to continue climbing while becoming one of the more complete guards in his class. Stay tuned.
