Some athletes simply play football, and then there are athletes like Glen Echeverria who pour every ounce of themselves into the game every single snap. The kind of player who steps on the field carrying pride, passion, toughness, heart, and purpose all at once. Every carry, every route, every tackle, every return is played like it matters because to Glen, it truly does. Football has been stitched into his life since he was 6 years old, and now, entering his senior season at Frontier High School, he is preparing to help lead a brand-new era of Falcons football with everything he has.

Glen is the definition of versatile. Offensively, he can line up at running back, slot receiver, and quarterback while making explosive plays in every role. Defensively, he attacks at cornerback and safety with physicality and toughness that jumps off the screen. Then, on special teams, he becomes another weapon entirely, dangerous every time he touches the football in space. His junior-season stats showed exactly how impactful he can be across the field. He rushed for 615 yards and 3 touchdowns on only 77 carries while averaging a blistering 8 yards per carry. At slot receiver, he hauled in 8 catches for 119 yards. At quarterback, he completed 5-7 passes for 129 yards. Then on kickoff returns, he added 339 yards and an 88-yard touchdown return that flipped momentum in an instant. Defensively, he added 27 tackles while showing he is not afraid to come downhill and deliver contact.

But numbers only tell part of the story. Glen’s game is built around toughness, instincts, preparation, and effort. He describes himself as quick, fast, smooth, elusive, and a player with elite hands who takes tremendous pride in never letting the game get too big for him. Whether he is slipping defenders in the open field, tracking the football through traffic, or wrapping up ball carriers low and fundamentally sound on defense, he attacks every responsibility with confidence and hunger.

One thing that stands out immediately is how much his football IQ matters to his success. Glen studies film every week with his Dad and Papa, both of whom played and coached the game at a high level. Football is not just something he does. It is part of his everyday life and foundation. Before the snap, he is already processing alignments, tendencies, leverage, spacing, and reads. Then, once the play begins, preparation meets instinct, and he simply reacts naturally. That understanding of the game allows him to impact multiple positions without looking overwhelmed or uncomfortable.

This offseason has brought major improvements in his development physically and mentally. His speed, strength, route running, and footwork have improved. Hands that were already reliable have become even stronger. And with a brand-new coaching staff bringing fresh energy to the Frontier football program, Glen has become even more motivated to help change the culture surrounding Falcons football. There is real excitement building around the team, and Glen wants to be one of the leaders helping fuel that fire.

The passion he carries for the game is impossible to miss. Glen hates losing. He embraces competition, wants to prove people wrong, and show he belongs at the next level. More importantly, he wants to win for his teammates, coaches, school, and community. That chip on his shoulder mixed with his love for the game creates a player who refuses to quit, no matter the circumstances. Even through adversity, he stays calm, keeps fighting, and focuses on leading by example while giving maximum effort every single play.

Away from football, Glen’s life story carries even deeper meaning. Raised by his father since birth, the bond between the two goes far beyond sports. His father has been his coach not only in football, baseball, and basketball, but also in life itself. The lessons instilled in him about discipline, faith, effort, humility, and passion continue to shape the young man he is becoming today.

Long before becoming known on the football field, Glen was already performing on massive stages. At only 10 years old, he won a National Freestyle Dance Competition in front of 5,000 fans, competing against older teenagers. He later won another National Dance Championship in Orlando, Florida. That confidence, athleticism, body control, and poise under pressure still show up today every time he steps onto a football field.

Faith also plays a major role in Glen’s life and mindset. His belief in Jesus Christ keeps him grounded through every victory and every obstacle. He trusts God’s plan for his future and continues to lean on his faith while chasing his dream of playing D1 football. No matter where the road leads, Glen remains grateful for every opportunity to continue playing the game he loves. His humility, gratitude, and trust in God stand out just as much as his athletic ability.

When it comes to college football, Glen is looking for a program with strong academics, great culture, and a coaching staff that truly cares about its players. He wants a place where he can continue growing both on and off the field while giving everything he has mentally and physically for his teammates and coaches.

The best advice he has ever received came from his Dad. Keep your head high no matter the score; give everything you have every single moment; leave the field knowing you gave your all; stay focused; play with passion; control your emotions; and stay humble, hungry, and faithful. Those lessons have become part of who Glen is as both an athlete and a young man.

College interest is beginning to build with schools like Buffalo, St. John Fisher, Alfred State, Albany, and St. Lawrence already stopping by Frontier High School, while Glen also visited USF in Florida. Even without offers yet, his determination remains strong. Glen is chasing opportunity with relentless hunger and believes his work ethic, versatility, toughness, and leadership will eventually open doors at the next level.

I assess that Glen is a versatile football player who impacts the game in all three phases. His ability to contribute at running back, slot receiver, quarterback, defensive back, and return specialist gives coaches tremendous flexibility. He combines toughness, athletic instincts, reliable hands, physical defense, and strong football IQ into one complete competitor. His film study habits, leadership mentality, and relentless effort make him the type of player who elevates the energy of an entire team.

Glen’s versatility and mentality make him a valuable weapon for any program. He shows natural playmaking ability in space, strong body control, and the toughness to compete physically despite not being the biggest athlete on the field. His continued improvements in speed, strength, and route running point toward even more upside entering his senior season. Add in his leadership qualities, coachability, and faith-driven mindset, and Glen has the tools to become a major piece for a college program looking for a tough, dependable athlete who refuses to back down from adversity. Stay tuned.
