"The Deep Range Dreammaker"

Dylan Janov

@dy305

5'11, Class of 2027

Coral Gables Senior HS, FL

Dylan is a dynamic point guard that has built his game around a weapon few players possess at a high level, the ability to consistently rain in shots from deep range with confidence. Defenders cannot simply protect the three-point line because Dylan is more than just a shooter. He is a confident floor general who understands how to read the game, make smart decisions, and keep defenses guessing. What makes him so dangerous is that he can stretch the floor with unlimited range, forcing defenders into uncomfortable situations and opening up opportunities for everyone around him. When Dylan gets rolling, he has the ability to completely change the energy of a game in a matter of minutes.

His junior season at Coral Gables was filled with growth, challenges, and proof that he belongs among the top guards in his class. Dylan helped lead his team to a 16-9 record while averaging 19.6 points, 2.5 rebounds, and 2.5 assists per game. The season brought its share of ups and downs as injuries forced different players into larger roles, but Dylan continued to answer the call. Through every challenge, he kept producing and continued proving he could perform at a high level. His favorite accomplishment was averaging nearly 20 points per game because it confirmed what he already believed about himself. He proved he could compete at this level and showed he has the ability to climb even higher.

Following the high school season, Dylan wasted no time getting back to work. He joined Ball By Design on the Made Hoops Circuit, one of the top teams on the circuit and a group with legitimate championship aspirations. While many players would focus solely on scoring, Dylan has embraced a different role. His responsibilities have gone beyond just putting points on the board and now include facilitating, finding teammates, and applying relentless full-court defensive pressure. Even while taking on more responsibilities as a playmaker and defender, he continues to provide steady scoring production. That willingness to adapt and do whatever his team needs speaks volumes about his growth as a player.

One of the biggest developments in Dylan's game has been on the defensive end. Earlier in his career, defense was an area that needed improvement. Now it has become one of his biggest focuses. He recognized that scoring points alone was not enough and that becoming a complete player required impacting both ends of the floor. The work he has put into his defense continues to show every time he steps on the court. By adding toughness and commitment on that side of the ball, Dylan has elevated his overall value and become a much more complete weapon.

The highlights and scoring numbers are what most people see, but they only tell part of the story. Behind every made shot are countless hours spent in the gym perfecting his craft. Dylan's success comes from an obsession with improvement, constantly evaluating himself, finding weaknesses, and attacking them with purpose. The hours spent working on his shot, elevating his skills, and focusing on details when nobody is watching have helped transform him into the player he is today. That commitment to growth continues to separate him from many of his peers.

Like every athlete, Dylan faced adversity along the way. During the high school season, he struggled with knowing his defense was not matching his offensive production. While he was scoring at a high level, he felt he was letting teammates down on the other end of the floor. Instead of making excuses, he attacked the problem head-on. Once AAU season arrived, he made defense a priority and challenged himself to improve. That experience taught him an important lesson. When he fully commits himself to a goal and puts his mind to it, he can achieve it.

Looking ahead, Dylan's focus is locked in on becoming stronger, controlling the game at a higher level, and preparing for an expanded role as a primary point guard. He knows next season will require him to create opportunities for others while continuing to be a scoring threat himself. His goal is not only to score points but to control the flow of games and make everyone around him better. That next step could unlock an entirely new level of his game.

Coaches can expect a competitor who works relentlessly to improve, embraces coaching, and attacks challenges head-on. They can expect a dangerous shooter with deep range, a guard who is developing into a true floor general, and a player committed to impacting both ends of the floor. Fans should expect a bigger, stronger, more complete Dylan next season, one capable of lighting up the scoreboard while also controlling games with his playmaking, leadership, and growing defensive presence.

I assess that Dylan is a dynamic scoring point guard whose unlimited shooting range immediately changes how defenses must play him. His ability to stretch the floor creates opportunities not only for himself but for everyone around him. The improvements he has made defensively and as a facilitator have expanded his impact well beyond scoring. His willingness to address weaknesses and turn them into strengths speaks volumes about his work ethic and potential.

Dylan brings a dangerous combination of shot-making, confidence, and offensive firepower that can change a game in a hurry. What makes him even more intriguing is the growth he continues to show as a defender and floor general. As he develops into a full-time lead guard and continues learning how to control the pace and flow of games, his value rises even higher. The scoring is already proven, but the evolution of the rest of his game says his best basketball is still ahead of him. Stay tuned.
