There is something different about a guard who thrives in chaos yet plays with control. Alex is a relentless on-ball defender with fierce competitive fire, the kind that wears opponents down possession after possession. He pressures the ball with purpose, slides with discipline, and refuses to give ground. Offensively, he is crafty off the bounce, shifty in tight spaces, and effective getting downhill. His handles are tight, his head stays up, and his eyes are always scanning for the right read. He plays with a high IQ and a nonstop motor that impacts both ends every trip down the floor.
This season added another layer to his game. Alex became more assertive as an offensive option while stepping into a stronger leadership role. His biggest improvement has been embracing that responsibility, understanding when to take over and when to set the table. He is strong with the ball, gets to the rim with purpose, and scores at all three levels. The area of focus moving forward is continuing to elevate his shooting percentage, turning quality attempts into even more efficient production.
The résumé is earned, not given. A 2x All District selection and 2x All Region honors. This year’s District Tournament MVP. In the championship game, he dropped 22 points in dramatic fashion, delivering bucket after bucket when the stakes were highest and the game was tight. In pressure moments, he keeps his head, stays composed, and trusts the system. He feeds off big games and energy plays, especially when momentum swings in his team’s favor. As a senior choosing not to play AAU this summer, the focus remains on development, preparation, and finishing strong.
I assess that Alex is a two-way guard who brings defensive intensity and offensive balance every night. His ability to guard the ball at a high level sets the tone, and his growth as a scorer makes him more difficult to game plan against. He plays with pace, sees the floor clearly, and understands game flow. His competitive edge and conditioning allow him to stay effective late in games when others fade.
Alex is poised to be a dependable backcourt piece at the next level who impacts winning through toughness, decision-making, and versatility. Continued improvement in shooting consistency will raise his ceiling even more. With his academic strength, proven production in championship settings, and steady leadership, he has the foundation to contribute early and grow into a key piece wherever he lands.
