Parker is a three point sniper with a beautiful, soft touch. He is a high energy kid who has a very high game IQ. He knows when to take a shot or when to pass. He is fierce when he decides to attack off the bounce, using his speed, athleticism and handles, to free himself up with a nasty first step. He is also a ruthless defender, who is well known for his steals.
Winning UA nationals last season was something that really fired him up. Seeing that he could be successful against some of the best players in the entire country only further raised his confidence level. He worked very hard this offseason on his ball handling and passing. His biggest goal this season is for his high school team to win a state championship.
Playing AAU for the Stars Basketball Club, the goal was to win the championship, and that is exactly what he and his teammates did. In that championship game, that was the most aggressive I have ever seen him play. He was all over the court on both offense and defense. He finished with 15 points , 5 rebounds , and 3 assists. His team played like a well oiled machine. They fully understand the “team” concept and they all fed off of each other.
What really fuels the fire inside this kid is simply just him being an intense competitor and absolutely loving to win. He has a very strong faith and that too motivates him to always give it his all. Plain and simple, you are not going to see this kid rattle when the heat is turned up, the pressure is on, or when things are just not going quite right. He takes a deep breath, and he is able to quickly assess what is not working, and is able to quickly make any and all adjustments to fix those things that aren’t working. He is a natural leader who can very often be seen encouraging his teammates and firing them up.
When asked what a coach can expect from him, he said “I will always give it 110%. I have a very high game IQ, and I can quickly make adjustments. I love playing defense and shutting down my opponent.” This kid just simply outworks and outhustles anyone he goes up against. Period. He sees himself playing college basketball due to his work ethic and the level of coaching he has gotten over the years. He has continued to work on his shooting ability, which is a flat out scary thought. This kid is hungry, determined, focused and he is absolutely willing to put in the work in order to get better. Those things can’t be taught, folks. I personally can't wait to watch him play this upcoming season!
