6’8”, 195 lbs, 2026 Forward
Enterprise High School, Enterprise, OR
Kason is a rare blend of length, range, and fire, a super-versatile forward who dominates in the paint and punishes from beyond the arc. With a long, athletic frame, he erases shots at the rim with ruthless timing, gobbles boards like a machine, and spaces the floor with a blistering 46% rainmaker from deep. He runs the floor like a guard, finishes with touch, and brings an energy that shifts momentum. With 74 blocks and 226 rebounds to his name last season, Kason impacts every possession on both ends, whether he’s owning the glass, closing out with force, or knocking down back-to-back threes.
Last season, Kason scored 414 points on 62% shooting, averaged 8.4 rebounds, and swatted nearly 3 shots per game. The biggest improvement, though, came in his evolution as a multi-position scorer. He’s always had range, but as a junior, he unlocked a new level of confidence and versatility. If a slower big tried to guard him, he’d stretch the floor and torch them from deep. If they switched to a quicker, smaller defender, he’d take them inside and dominate from the post. That inside-out threat made him a nightmare to match up with. Now, he’s focused on adding strength to his lower body to hold position in the paint, tightening his handle, and creating more off the dribble.
One of the defining moments of his career came when Enterprise hosted its first boys’ state playoff game in over 15 years, a dream Kason helped make a reality. He’s been a starter since his freshman year, and after years of building and battling with a young group, everything came together his junior season. He was named team captain and fully embraced that leadership role, encouraging teammates, bringing energy on and off the floor, and stepping up when adversity struck. When one of the team’s starters quit the week of districts, Kason stood firm and advocated for his teammates through the tension, cementing his role as the backbone of the team.
Kason’s grind doesn’t stop with high school ball. Wanting to test himself against elite competition, he spent the spring with G.R.I.T., committing to six-hour drives every weekend from Eastern Oregon to Forest Grove just to make it happen. That dedication paid off. He improved his screening, defensive reads, and physicality. Then he joined NW Drip and took on national-level talent in Atlanta and Chicago, where he proved he could defend multiple positions and hold his own against some of the toughest players in the country. Film doesn’t lie; his transformation was obvious.
He’s most fired up by big blocks, loud dunks, and team energy. He wants to be the kind of player who fuels others, lifting his team when it matters most. And this season, with several returning starters, he’s focused on leading Enterprise on a deep playoff run. Three years of varsity work have built to this moment, and he’s ready to unleash everything he’s been preparing for.
Off the court, Kason keeps a strong balance. He’s a 3.92 GPA student who loves lake days just ten minutes from home, is learning golf, and spends time with his younger brother and family. He’s a big believer in work ethic, both on and off the floor. One of the best pieces of advice he’s received came from his coach at G.R.I.T., “You can be tired, but don’t look tired.” he’s embraced that and, through every rep, every drive, and every step of his journey, is driven by that.
Kason Mitchell isn’t just a shooter. He’s a fierce rim protector, a rebounding force, a leader, and a relentless worker with his eyes locked on the next level, and he’s doing everything it takes to make sure when that moment comes, he’ll be more than ready.
I assess that Kason brings immediate value to any program with his rare combination of size, shot-blocking instincts, and elite shooting percentages. He defends the rim like a true post, stretches the floor like a guard, and brings consistent energy and leadership every time he steps on the floor. His presence transforms both ends of the court and makes him a matchup problem in any system.
With continued development in ball-handling and physical strength, Kason has the tools to thrive as a modern forward at the next level. He’s more than just a role player but a game-changer with a high ceiling and a team-first mentality. As he adds to his skill set and builds on his confidence, expect him to be a standout wherever he lands. Stay tuned for a monster season ahead. Get your popcorn ready, Kason is locked and loaded to give us a show to remember.
