Shenker is a crafty, triple threat punisher who possesses tight handles and a lightning quick release from three point land. He is deadly accurate with mid-range pullups and he knows how to drive to the rim. He was one of the top scorers in the entire State of Ohio last season. He is a fierce defender who gets extremely physical under the boards. This upcoming season, he will be a senior and he knows now more than ever before, his team will be looking at him to be the leader.
Last season, Sean averaged 12.4 points per game while shooting 88% fromthe free throw line, and 36% from 3 point range. He finished with 310 pts on the season, with 69 of those points coming in the form of threes. His team lost in the regional semifinals to end the year, and that hurt still eats away at him. He said he won’t ever make excuses, but knowing how poorly he and the entire team played in that game, really left a bad taste in his mouth. His goal this season is none other than winning a state championship. He wants to average 20 points, 5 assists and 5 rebounds per game and break the school's single season record for most 3’s.
Playing AAU for the Indy heat Red 2025, he really wants to improve in all facets of the game, especially improving as a defender. Since last season ended, he has been living in the gym, putting in the work. His goal is to obtain a scholarship to play in college. He said the thing that motivates him the most is his family. They sacrifice everything for him, and his dream is to someday be able to change their lives as much as possible.
When things aren’t going well in a game, he has the poise to always keep his cool, and never lets the moment get bigger than it needs to be. He is fully cognizant that at any time, a coach or scout could be watching, and that is something he never forgets. He has the ability to leave the last play behind and truly have short term memory. It is all about the next play, and that is why the windshield is so much larger than the rearview mirror.
When asked what a coach can expect from him, he said “A player who will give it everything he has on both offense and defense. A player who will always give 100% effort and always outwork and outhustle everyone.” Right now, Sean feels he could play on the D2 level, but with hard work, he knows that anything is truly possible.
