Maddox brings a versatile game that lets him play all five positions. He can stretch the floor with his shot, use his footwork in the post, and find ways to score from different spots. He likes having more than one way to help his team, and that range gives his coach plenty of ways to use him.

Last season, Maddox earned All-Conference honors, but senior night stands out just as much to him. He played on a team filled with seniors, and sharing that night with them meant a lot. When a teammate got hurt, Maddox had to find ways to produce more efficiently for the team. He answered by taking on a bigger role and showing that his team could count on him when plans changed.

That work showed during a strong summer, when Maddox averaged about 17.5 points and 8 rebounds per game. His shooting has improved since last season, and he's become stronger at attacking off the bounce and finishing at the rim. He wants to turn those summer numbers into wins by becoming a key player and a leader for his team.

Maddox has spent plenty of time in the weight room while continuing to sharpen his ball-handling and defense. His daily workouts are intense and fast-paced, pushing him to stay strong when a close game reaches the fourth quarter. He also wants to grow his basketball IQ so he can make better decisions as his role grows.

His goals are to help his team finish with a winning record and make a run in the state tournament while earning All-Conference and All-State honors. Every time he steps on the court, Maddox wants his coach to see high energy, aggression, and intensity. His competitive nature fuels that approach, and he is willing to do what the team needs to win.

I assess that Maddox has a combination of size, touch, and movement that can make him difficult to match up with. He can give his team a different look without losing his feel for putting the ball in the basket. That flexibility should help him stay involved no matter how a game unfolds.

The coming season will show how much command Maddox can take when his team needs a steady voice. As he keeps making quick choices and stays confident in close games, he will have a strong impact on the team. He's set a high bar for himself and is ready to chase it. Buckle up, y'all. A breakout senior season is ahead. Stay tuned.
