Brooks is a walking bucket with the mind of a floor general and the heart of a competitor. A silky-smooth scorer with three-level touch and the ability to make tough shots look effortless, Brooks thrives in rhythm and rarely wastes a dribble. He’s a shifty, skilled guard who plays with pace, patience, and poise, and he doesn’t just get buckets, he gets them efficiently. Whether it’s a catch-and-shoot three, a quick pull-up off one bounce, or a smart drive-and-kick read, he’s always making the right play. But don’t sleep on his defense, but takes pride in getting stops, locking in late, and setting the tone on both ends.
After averaging 18 points per game in AAU, Brooks exploded at Mile High Madness with scoring outbursts of 28 and 30 points, finishing the weekend with a scorching 25.5 points per game average in multiple age levels, including runs at 15U, 16U, and 17U. What made it even more impressive was how easily it came. He never forced the action, stayed within the flow, and still led his squad in scoring nearly every game. Evaluators noticed, and rightfully so. He’s shown he can torch defenses without dominating the ball and elevate his game without sacrificing efficiency.
His freshman varsity season at Cannon Falls was all about earning his stripes and learning to impact the game in limited minutes. He averaged 3.7 points, 1.9 rebounds, 1 assist, and 1.1 steals on a 22–7 squad, but the real shift came between the end of school ball and the beginning of AAU. His ability to drive and finish, his vision as a playmaker, and his overall confidence took off. He hit both of his personal goals of averaging 15+ points and playing with confidence, and he’s carrying that momentum into a huge sophomore year.
Brooks plays with an unselfish, team-first mindset, and he’s calm in the chaos. When the game tightens and a stop is needed, he digs in hardest. When facing adversity, he resets his emotions and just plays ball. The best coaching advice he’s ever received was to “play freely without worrying about what you can’t control,” and it shows.
Next season, he’s looking forward to being a key piece at Cannon Falls and doing whatever it takes to help the team win. He’s returning with a stronger handle, better reads, and a scorer’s instinct that continues to climb. Off the court, Brooks enjoys golfing, chilling with friends, and staying humble.
I assess that Brooks is the kind of player who instantly boosts an offense with his ability to get into rhythm and score from every angle. His IQ, shot efficiency, and defensive buy-in make him a plug-and-play guard with long-term potential. Coaches will love his ability to play within a system while still being a go-to option when it matters.
With his scoring versatility, quick decision-making, and newfound confidence as a playmaker, Brooks is climbing the charts fast. As he adds strength and experience, expect him to take over bigger roles and continue to be a name to know as a long-term prospect with the tools, mindset, and game to make serious noise. Stay tuned for a breakout season ahead.
