Messiah is a physical force inside the paint with a nonstop motor. Built like a linebacker and wired like a winner, he dominates the glass and carves out space with power and poise. He’s relentless on the boards, a true rebound machine who imposes his will on defenders trying to keep him off the block. Messiah thrives in close quarters, using strength, timing, and touch to get his buckets the hard way, where real toughness lives. But he’s not just muscle. His evolving skill set includes a mid-range pull-up, improved ball handling, and a growing comfort stepping into big-time moments. What separates him is his willingness to do the dirty work, to outwork anyone in his way, and to anchor his team with toughness and heart.
He averaged a double-double this past season on junior varsity and is now stepping onto the varsity stage, ready to make noise. His biggest improvement has been working on his dribbling and mid-range pull-up, and this offseason, he's locked in on expanding his scoring off the dribble and shooting threes with confidence. A dislocated finger midseason forced him to slow down and reevaluate his aggression, but also gave him time to reflect, reset, and re-attack smarter. This AAU season with Pride ROC, he’s focused on building his confidence, sharpening his guard instincts, and turning his current weaknesses into future strengths.
Messiah doesn’t need a huge stage to go hard. He treats every tournament like it’s the championship, every matchup like it’s personal. He’s most fired up when he’s getting buckets and even more so when his teammates join in and the team clicks on all cylinders. He handles adversity by staying quiet, grinding through it, and doing whatever it takes to get better.
The best coaching advice he’s ever received is, “Everyone gets blocked, so don’t go up soft. If you get blocked, make sure it’s while going hard, and maybe you draw a foul.” That simple message shifted his mindset and gave him permission to play fearlessly. He’s not afraid to fail; he’s afraid of not giving everything he has.
Off the court, Messiah finds peace in the weight room, the outdoors, and surrounding himself with real friends. He’s excited to see how all the work and grind this offseason show up when it’s time to suit up again, and when it does, expect fireworks.
I assess that Messiah’s strength, toughness, and rebounding presence give him immediate value to any team that needs grit and physicality. His blue-collar approach, mixed with evolving touch and confidence, allows him to fill multiple roles and bring an identity to a locker room. He’s a glue piece and an enforcer who plays to win.
As his confidence grows and his offensive game expands further from the rim, Messiah is on track to become a true matchup nightmare. Expect him to make noise at the varsity level this year, setting the tone physically, producing consistently, and turning heads every time he touches the floor. Expect a breakout season ahead. Stay tuned.
