Mountain Vista HS, CO

Oliver brings physicality, athleticism, and hustle every time he steps on the floor. With his size and strength, he’s a force in the paint who doesn’t just play above the rim; he owns it. A true slasher, Oliver attacks the basket with purpose and intent, finishes through contact, and controls the glass on both ends. Whether it’s grabbing boards, swatting shots, or running in transition, he makes his presence felt. He’s also a big who can step out, handle the ball, and push it up the floor when needed. His footwork is strong, his motor never stops, and his basketball IQ shows in how he moves without the ball and reads the floor.

This past season, Oliver averaged 15.4 points, 11.3 rebounds, 2.7 assists, 0.9 steals, and 2.8 blocks per game, earning a reputation as one of Colorado’s most versatile and impactful bigs. He’s known for being a tough matchup on both ends as an efficient scorer around the basket, a smart defender who avoids fouls, and a shot blocker who makes it hard for anyone to finish at the rim. His biggest improvement came in his ability to attack from the perimeter, putting it on the floor and creating plays off the bounce. When the guards were pressured, he stepped up to handle it. He’s working hard this offseason to elevate his perimeter game even more, improving his jumper, tightening his handles, and becoming a player who can either knock it down or punch it on someone if you close out too late.

Oliver plays with Elevation Flyers on the AAU circuit, where he’s focused on winning, getting better, and continuing to grow his game in front of college coaches. He’s especially excited about Recruit Look in Chicago, a high-level event packed with scouts and competition. His AAU goals are to keep improving, earn more offers, and help his squad rack up wins. With a strong senior season ahead, Oliver is hungry for a championship with the same group of teammates he’s grown up playing with, and that motivation hits even harder after falling short in last year’s playoffs.

He’s fired up by intense games, big-time matchups, and throwing down dunks that bring the gym to life. But when facing adversity, Oliver trusts his work ethic. He blocks out the noise, trusts his coaches, and stays locked in. One of the best pieces of advice he’s ever received is, “Zone out everything around you. Fans, pressure, scouts, just hoop.”

His work has paid off. Oliver recently picked up an offer from the South Dakota School of Mines, a proud moment and a sign of what’s still ahead. Off the court, he enjoys lifting, working out, or hitting the golf course to reset.

Oliver is a tough, versatile forward who can make an instant impact at the next level. He rebounds with force, defends without fouling, and brings scoring power both around the basket and from the midrange. His strength, size, and mobility make him a valuable piece for any program looking for a hard-nosed, high-IQ big.

As he continues to expand his outside game and develop as a shot-maker, Oliver’s all-around skill set will open even more doors. He’s already shown he can lead, handle pressure, and produce in big games. With his drive and physical tools, the next step is his for the taking. With a title run mission, buckle up for a statement run with passion, purpose, and determination. Stay tuned.
