Amari “A12” brings electric playmaking with a calm presence that can steady a huddle when the pressure rises. He trusts his preparation, processes what the defense shows him, and leads with the confidence to make a throw or create a chance with his legs. Coaches can expect his energy and intensity on every snap with a fierce commitment to giving his team a chance to win.
His regular season showed how dynamic that command could be: 2,679 passing yards, 31 passing touchdowns, a 73% completion rate, a 143.7 QBR, 350 rushing yards, and 5 rushing touchdowns. Amari carried that production into the first playoff round, completing 17/25 passes for 298 yards and 4 touchdowns. Even after that explosive opening performance, he's studying the plays he could have handled better, watching more film, and taking those details into practice so he can be sharper in the next game.
Amari sees improvement throughout his game since last year, especially in his ability to create plays and lead his teammates. Starting on varsity as a freshman fulfilled a goal he'd set for himself, and the weight of this postseason has given him another challenge to meet. He understands how much each win demands, which makes his composure and decision-making vital when every possession matters.
Being doubted week after week has tested Amari, but he's learned to keep his attention on his own work and the job his team needs him to do. During the offseason, he trained to improve every part of his game and gave special attention to the mental demands of quarterback play. His work continues behind the scenes through film study and careful attention to his mechanics, where he looks for the small corrections that can make his performance more consistent.
Before the snap, Amari checks the safeties’ leverage, counts the defensive linemen, and studies the demeanor of the corners and linebackers. Those reads help him prepare for what may be coming, while his poise gives him room to respond when the defense changes the picture. Beneath that competitive drive is a deeply personal purpose: his family fuels his desire to succeed, and he wants to build a future where they no longer have to struggle.
I assess that Amari gives his team a confident voice and a versatile offensive threat who can punish a defense through the air or on the ground. His willingness to study mistakes after a standout playoff performance shows how seriously he takes the pursuit of consistency.
Amari’s quick mental processing, composed presence in the pocket, and explosive ability to extend a play give him substantial potential at quarterback. As his mechanics become even more precise and as his reads continue to grow sharper, his command of the offense can become even more difficult to defend. Stay tuned.
