Writer: Kevin MosesKevin Moses

Preston Luzader , @LuzanderPreston , 6'7 , 215 , c/o 25  from Clay Battelle High School, WV  was voted this week's Player of the Week and well deserved. Different article for this winner. A real interview for him .  I asked Preston, What was your toughest challenge you faced so far that helped you prepare for this level of play?

Answer...

The toughest challenge I have faced so far is playing in states last year for the first time, having that nervous feeling, like you feel sick, but I went out there and I still performed and played really well and lead my team to a win and our team too the state semifinals for the third time in school history, it was just a confidence booster to me.

Next I asked Preston, When facing defenses designed to slow you down what goes through your mind about needed adjustments?

Answer...

Next I asked Preston, Knowing every game you will have a target on your chest, does this motivate you to play harder or smarter?

Sense i know that just about every game I’m gonna have a target on my back it does motivate me to play harder, it feels good to know that people are aware of me, and it just makes me want to dominate more, it feels good to know that even though a team is going everything they can to stop me but they still cant

Next I asked Preston, What are your goals and expectations for the rest of the season?

Answer...

Sense i know that just about every game I’m gonna have a target on my back it does motivate me to play harder, it feels good to know that people are aware of me, and it just makes me want to dominate more, it feels good to know that even though a team is going everything they can to stop me but they still cant

And my final question was , can you continue to elevate your game to make a deep tournament run?

Prestona's answer...

My game will for sure continue to get better as the season goes on, the team will get better, we are far from our best and when the end of the season gets close is when it really kicks in .

Preston has been one of the most interesting kids I have connected with and among the best in the state. Keep a close eye on Preston  the rest of the season. I'm hyped to see just how far he can lead them.
