Plumtree is a super efficient shooter who flat out punishes a defense with his fierce finishes. He is in constant attack mode, possessing a high motor and is extremely physical. He can also pop threes at a blistering rate, but his greatest strength is driving to the rim. Just get out of his way! Troy is a monster under the boards. His nickname should be “Windex.” He is lockdown defender who always wants to guard the opposing team’s best player
.This past season Troy averaged 27 points, 17 rebounds and 2 blocks pergame. This past season, his team lost in the U16 Asia Qualifier by only 3 points against Australia, and that left him with a very bad taste in his mouth. His main focus this Summer has been improving his shooting. He wants to finish Top 8 atWorld Cup while averaging 10ppg and 10rpg, and win the New ZealandNational School Tournament again. Troy is now up on the 17u National Team. In his first two games of the World Cup U17, he is averaging 21 points and 12 reboundsper game shooting 14/21 from the field.
This kid is willing to put in the work to always strive to get better. His biggest goal is to get a D1 scholarship to play in college. It is impossible to rattle this kid. When things aren’t going well during a game, he simply takes a deep breath and focuses on what changes need to be implemented. It seems to be a cliché we always hear, but this kid always gives 100% on each and every play. He is a fierce competitor who absolutely hates to lose.
My personal assessment is this kid will absolutely not only be playing D1 ball in college, but creating big problems for any opposing team. I very rarely say this about any kid, but I sincerely believe this kid will someday be playing in the NBA. He is a hungry, fierce competitor who has the work ethic and the skillset to do just that. I can’t wait to watch his story unfold!
