"Holy Fire and Ice: The Relentless Rise of a Fearless Freshman"

6’3”, 205lbs, Class of 2028

Goodhue HS, MN

Alex is a bucket. A real problem. A fearless competitor that always delivers, whether it's raining a deep three, muscling through traffic, or diving on the floor for a loose ball. At his size, the physicality jumps out immediately, but it's the motor and mindset that make him special. Alex brings toughness on every possession, scoring with confidence, defending with grit, and crashing the boards with no fear. And add his two-way swagger of relentless defense, it's clear he is a tone-setter. He averaged 19.4 points, 6.4 rebounds, 2.1 steals, and 1.7 assists per game as a freshman while shooting 55.5% from two and collecting a staggering 80 offensive rebounds. That’s not just production, it’s domination.

And what makes him special is that when the shots aren’t falling, he impacts the game with his vision, effort, and relentless defense. He never stops working. He never hangs his head. He just adjusts, locks in, and finds other ways to win. From torching opponents off the catch to taking over in physical matchups, Alex plays the game with his chest out and his chin up, because he knows who has his back. He’s vocal about giving all glory to God, and his faith fuels everything he does on and off the court.

This season, Alex helped lead Goodhue to the state tournament, a historic moment for the program. Though they came up short, the experience of fighting alongside his teammates in honor of a lost friend meant more than any stat sheet. That loss shaped him. So did the noise, the doubters in the stands, the ones who questioned him. Alex hears it, but doesn’t let it in. He blocks it out, looks to God through prayer, and plays for an audience of one.

His breakout season came with jaw-dropping achievements, HVL All-Conference, All-State, Republican Eagle All-Area Team, Prep Section 1A Player of the Year, and an early membership in the 1,000-point club. And he wasn’t just putting up numbers in high school. He elevated again in AAU with 58Hoops 15U, competing two grades up, playing with power inside, and stretching the floor. Whether it was Atlanta, Chicago, or Minnesota’s biggest stages, he showed the same thing every time: effort, attitude, and impact.

What fires him up is doubt and disrespect. The chance to prove people wrong. A nasty block or a dagger three when the crowd’s chirping. He plays the game with the kind of energy that turns momentum, and he does it with a spirit that’s centered and grounded. He loves the grind, the battles, and the belief that anything is possible through faith and fire.

Off the court, Alex loves hunting, fishing, gaming, and diving into his Bible. He surrounds himself with family and friends and lives with purpose. He’s not chasing hype but greatness with gratitude.

I assess that Alex is built for big moments. His physicality, versatility, and high-effort mentality make him a cornerstone player. Coaches will get a gritty scorer who rebounds like a forward, defends like a guard, and leads by example. His presence alone elevates a team’s toughness and culture, and he plays with a maturity far beyond his years.

Already a 1,000-point scorer and all-state performer as a freshman, Alex has set the bar high, and he’s just getting started. With continued development in his finishing, bounce, and shooting consistency, his ceiling is sky-high. Expect him to be one of Minnesota’s most impactful players year after year, and a future force at the next level. He is a legit D1 talent whose potential has no ceiling. Get on this train now, as it's only going to pick up steam. Stay tuned to see just how high he flies.
