Alex is an athletic electric wing with sick hops and can score effectively on all three levels. With a silky touch from beyond the arc, attacking the lane with explosive intent, and finishing fiercely at the rim, Alex is a ruthless, rim-rattling dunker. But he also has a smooth mid-range jumper, whether off the bounce or from the post. Alex is a jaw-dropping passer and mixes it up on the boards. He’s a rock-solid defender, capable of guarding 1 through 5 depending on what his team needs, showing off his size and versatility at its best.
Alex's focus is on becoming better at everything, and his relentless determination reflects that. His biggest improvement from last season has been his athleticism and ability to play above the rim. This year, Alex's goal is to average double digits in scoring and rebounds. His teammates’ development and improved scoring have made the team more dangerous and unpredictable.
Alex’s standout accomplishment so far is being voted District Newcomer of the Year as a sophomore, alongside leading his team in minutes played per game. The biggest rivalry for Alex and his team is with the Boerne Champion Chargers, who eliminated them from the playoffs the past two years. However, this season, Alex’s squad finally got a win in their first matchup. Competing in one of the toughest districts in the state—with seven of nine teams battling for a state playoff spot, knowing only 4 can have any real chance —keeps the stakes sky-high.
Alex and his team know that the key to making a deep playoff run is a consistent weekly improvement, cutting down turnovers, and locking down opposing shooters from beyond the arc. Alex thrives on high-energy plays like steals, And-1 finishes, blocks, or clutch three-pointers, which fire him and his teammates up.
When adversity strikes, Alex doesn’t dwell on it. Whether it’s a missed shot or a mistake, he moves on to the next play. His approach to setbacks stems from advice passed down from his dad, quoting Kobe Bryant: “When you take a sh*t, you don’t turn around and look at it or breathe that stench forever—you flush it quick and move on.”
Alex enjoys playing video games, piano, golf, or hanging out with friends off the court. For Alex to reach the next level, he knows he needs to improve across the board—more time in the gym and weight room, better nutrition, and enhanced stamina to maintain peak performance. Coaches see him as a D2 player with D1 potential, and Alex is committed to proving that assessment right.
Alex has already made a name for himself in one of the toughest districts in Texas, and with his relentless work ethic and passion for the game, the best is yet to come.
