Evan is a pure sniper with the confidence and IQ to back it up. His three-point shooting is deadly, knocking down shots with either a set release or a lightning-quick trigger, depending on what the defense gives him. A true student of the game with elite floor vision and a high-level understanding of spacing, Evan makes the game easier for his teammates while being a threat to score the second he crosses half-court. He rebounds well for his position and isn’t afraid to mix it up physically. A solid defender and fearless playmaker, he adds toughness, tempo, and composure to every lineup. Whether he's dropping dimes or raining daggers, Evan plays with a mature edge and fierce confidence far beyond his age.
As a freshman, Evan averaged 17 points, 4 rebounds, and 2 assists per game while shooting 40% from deep. He had 13 games with at least three triples and dropped five or more in nine separate contests. The only freshman to letter for his varsity squad, Evan quickly earned respect while adapting to the pace and physicality of the high school game. His biggest improvement was learning how to compete against older, stronger players, and now he’s training with NCAA-level athletes to take that growth even further. His offseason is locked in on tightening his handles and learning to play through contact, laying the foundation for a breakout sophomore year.
Evan plays for AD Elite, his older brother’s AAU program. It’s a rare advantage having a mentor and coach who just finished his sophomore season playing NCAA college ball. That hands-on insight and leadership pushes Evan to grow in real time. He recently competed at the IC CHANGE Showcase and is aiming to follow his brother’s path to big stages like the John Lucas Be Elite and CP3 Showcase. Competing at the highest level is what fuels him, and his goal is to become the best player he can be and reach the top of the game.
Raised in a basketball household, Evan is surrounded by hoopers. His dad had offers but chose to serve in the military. His older brother played college hoops, his sister just graduated as a certified sniper, and his younger brother is already showing signs of something special. Evan’s game is built on skill, structure, and the constant pursuit of greatness, but his life is grounded in something even bigger.
Off the court, Evan's character and heart shine just as bright as his shot. His relationship with God keeps him centered and purpose-driven. With faith leading the way, he’s not just chasing greatness for himself, he’s living to honor his gifts, his family, and the One who gave them. He’s also a self-taught guitarist who loves music, adding another layer to a kid who’s both gifted and grounded.
I assess that Evan’s shooting ability alone can stretch defenses at the next level, but what makes him special is the maturity and IQ he plays with. He’s a coach’s dream in terms of effort, awareness, and character. As he continues to develop physically and tighten his ball control, he’ll be a true weapon in any system, able to play on or off the ball and provide instant spacing and floor leadership.
Expect Evan's stock to continue to in the seasons ahead. With elite mentorship, strong work habits, and real belief in his purpose, his game is only scratching the surface. He’s wired to compete, equipped to lead, and determined to rise. Coaches looking for a dependable shooter with a fearless mindset and faith-driven fire should keep their eyes on Evan Goodwin. A breakout season is ahead. Stay tuned.
