Silvano Martinez calls himself a reliable back who can be used on all four downs, and that mindset shows whether he gets the football or helps create a play for a teammate. Silvano brings the same intensity to every drive, giving his coaches a player they can trust in several roles.

In his most recent game, Silvano caught 2 passes for 27 yards and a touchdown while adding 35 yards on five rushes. His ability to contribute through the air and on the ground gave the Yetis more than one way to use him, and the score added to a season that already means a great deal to him. His first collegiate touchdown is one of his proudest football achievements.

Silvano sees reliability as his biggest improvement since last season. He's grown more comfortable stepping up when his team needs a play and taking on a leadership role for younger teammates. That growth extends beyond football, where making the Dean’s List last semester stands alongside his progress on the field.

Silvano’s recent game shows why his team can keep him involved in different situations. His approach gives the Yetis flexibility, while his growing confidence helps him take on more within the team.

Silvano is building the trust that can lead to a larger role as the season continues. The way he supports a play without touching the ball says as much about his value as the moments when he finishes one himself.
