What Bearden built this season wasn’t just a run, it was something deeper rooted in togetherness, sacrifice, and a team that refused to let the moment get bigger than the mission, and that kind of bond doesn’t always show up in the box score but it shows up in wins, toughness, and how a team responds when things don’t go their way, with Damian right in the middle of it all as a key piece in a squad that kept stacking moments all the way to the state tournament, where what stood out most wasn’t just the success but the unity behind it, as even the guys who didn’t see the floor played major roles by pushing every day in practice, sharpening the group, and making sure everybody was ready when their number was called, which is exactly the kind of environment that builds something real and gave Bearden that edge all season.

Adversity showed up too, and it hit hard with a tough loss to Saint Thomas Aquinas after controlling most of the game, snapping a 16-0 start in a way that didn’t sit right, but instead of letting it break them, Damian and his teammates used it as fuel, refusing to fold, splinter, or point fingers as they locked back in, regrouped, and responded the only way that matters by coming back stronger and knocking off a nationally ranked team, proving to themselves that they could handle anything thrown at them and come back as a better version of who they were.

As the season kept building, so did Damian’s game, with confidence turning into production and production turning into real impact as his ability to create open shots, knock them down, get to his spots, and make plays for others became more consistent, more controlled, and more dangerous, all while staying within the flow of the team and trusting the work he had put in behind the scenes, never chasing stats but staying locked in on winning and doing whatever the team needed in the moment.

Now that growth is showing, as the game is slowing down for him, the confidence is steady, and his ability to create, score, and make plays within the team is translating every time he steps on the floor, proving that what he built during that high school run wasn’t temporary but something real that continues to grow.
