Daniel runs the game with purpose and patience. A true point guard who loves to put pressure on the rim, he lives off two feet in the paint, using balance, angles, and timing to get past defenders and make them uncomfortable. He attacks gaps, finishes with touch, drops floaters when help arrives, and stays ready to rain threes when defenses sag. What separates him is how under control everything looks. He does not rush. He reads defenders, uses their momentum against them, and keeps teammates involved by making the right pass at the right time.
During the last season, Daniel averaged 19.6 points, 5.3 rebounds, 3.0 assists, and 2.4 steals per game, setting the tone as a scorer and competitor. So far in 2025, his game has taken another step, posting 20.2 points, 7.8 rebounds, 2.8 assists, and 2.2 steals per game. The impact on the boards shows his willingness to mix it up and finish possessions, while his scoring remains steady and reliable. One of the biggest milestones along the way was joining the 1000-point club, a moment that reflected consistency, commitment, and work over time.
The biggest improvement has come from beyond the arc. His three-point shooting has become a real weapon, forcing defenders to guard him honestly and opening up even more driving lanes. The focus now is on adding strength and continuing to grow defensively, especially with quicker feet and maintaining the same edge against every opponent. He attacks those areas head-on, understanding that growth comes from staying locked in regardless of who lines up across from him.
Competition fuels him. Temple Baptist is the rivalry that never leaves his mind, but the excitement ramps up when bigger schools step on the floor. Games against Hamilton Heights, Soddy Daisy, Chattanooga Central, and other public school programs are the ones he lives for. He embraces the challenge, the physicality, and the level of play that come with those matchups. This season’s schedule is one of the toughest Berean Academy has faced, and that is exactly how he wants it.
Coaches can expect toughness, edge, and a guard who is wired to get the job done. Few things fire him up more than forcing a defensive 5-second call, because it represents effort, pressure, and a group locked in together. When facing adversity, Daniel leans into it, seeing it as a chance to separate himself by doing the work others avoid. His mindset has been shaped by detailed preparation, mastering small details, and giving full effort in everything he does.
Off the court, he keeps things simple and disciplined, focusing on school, weightlifting, and basketball, with time spent with friends and watching college basketball when he can. He gives credit to his parents for their support and accountability, to Head Coach Harmon for trust and opportunity, and to Coach Jordan Long for patience, belief, and constant investment in his growth as both a player and a person.
Interest at the next level has started to form with Crowleys Ridge College in Arkansas, with a campus visit and game watch planned for early January. Beyond that, the focus stays on sending film, building relationships, and letting his play speak.
I assess that Daniel brings a program a steady floor general who can create offense off the bounce while keeping teammates involved. His ability to score efficiently, control tempo, and compete with toughness gives coaches a guard they can trust in meaningful minutes.
Moving forward, expect continued growth as his strength and defensive consistency continue to evolve. With his mindset, approach, and expanding skill set, Daniel is poised to be a guard who can handle bigger moments and earn opportunities by staying composed, aggressive, and reliable. Stay tuned for his fire to keep elevating, and this season to be a statement run.
